Orlando, this one is from an unknown chef, just a photo I have but I there a number of good restaurants out here. Try El Cochinito on Sunset, they make a fine Cuban.
Ziva - tortura! Havin' trouble stoppin' the Pavlovian drool...Alaskan Amber indeed is a good brew, discovered thanks to my good amigo in Washington state, last year.
If you really wanted to go Cuban all the way, you'd open a Hatuey (it is being made stateside), or a Cristal. I'll have to settle for Rock River lager right now, part of my dwindling stash. Salud, everyone!
Tincan sailor -- you will live long enough. All nightmares come to an end. And when this one is over, we'll all get together at the Hemingway marina or Bodeguita del Medio. The first round is on me.
Try La Palma in Calle Ocho and 61st. Great Fritas too...If you are in a hurry you can order from their sidewalk counter. Guarapo, Churros, anything you want. Oh yes Ironbeer and Materva too... OPEN 24 HRS
Man, that looks good. I just came back from the Sun-n-Fun Fly-in at Lakeland, Fl where there is usually a booth manned by a Cuban family that has authentic Cubano sandwiches. I was really looking forward to having one or twelve, but either he wasn't there this year or I has moved from his usual spot and I couldn't find him. My loss.
Boccaccio,
My friend I wish I would have come across this
blogg sooner, you guys are what living in this
country is all about,my only problem is there is
no Cuban food in Idaho...One good thing is the
Hemingways have a place some where here so I'm
going to gheck it out...Hell I have to I kind of look like him gray beard and all...
I just had that for lunch!
I've often wondered where I can find the best media noche in Miami. I like mine with an Ironbeer. (Oh man, now I'm going Pavlovian!)
Boccaccio,
Hey give an ALASKAN Amber a shot, just about
as good as it gets...
OK, Ziva. Where in LA did you get that Cuban? Although my favorite is the medianoche with a café con leche.
