It’s all about the accessories!

Via Michelle Malkin:

Shaw Heights Middle School in Westminster, Colorado has prohibited the wearing of "anything that is patriotic, including camouflage pants, because they have become a political symbol for a version of patriotism..."

Myla Shepherd, the principal, said that tensions over the immigration issue were apparent when more than 20 students came to school wearing camouflage jackets and pants, apparently to show what they call their patriotism and American pride.

Perhaps those patriotic kids in Colorado could learn a thing or two from the kids in San Diego, California:

It is quite obvious that the radical left wishes to co-op the illegal immigrant rights-reform issue. Not only does one see the now usual poor showing of US flags, among a seas of Mexican flags; but now we see the choice of May 1 (Mayday) (footnote 1, a labor day not commonly celebrated in this country because it is viewed as
co-opted by the extreme left) for the major demonstration.

A purely Mexican American would have preferred the usually well celebrated May 5 (Mexico's defeat over the French in the Battle of Puebla, see footnote 2)).

The objective here would seem to be make sure that pending favorable legislation fails, and less favorable legislation succeeds and then provokes ill feeling and if possible riots. This will not help the immigrants but it sure will make a stink.

Note the inclusion of "ANSWER's steering committee includes the Free Palestine Alliance, the Partnership for Civil Justice, the Nicaragua Network, the Korea Truth Commission, the Muslim Student Association, the Mexico Solidarity Network and the Party for Socialism and Liberation" See footnote 1

All that is needed now for all to join hands and sing the Internationale.

  • hmmm, I smell a lawsuit. If the kid in Joisey won about the semi-offensive redneck T-shirt, these people are about to lose their collective ass.

  • Charlie Bravo

Can somebody tell that idiotic kid that he/she's sucking the cigar by the wrong end?
Then he/she can pick the beard for fleas....

  • Probably wouldn't do much good, Charlie Bravo... you see, it's a blonde!
