The wit and wisdom of Sean Penn

"You commie, homo-loving sons-of-guns."

That's how he started his acceptance speech. He ended it by advocating an end to the ban on gay marriage and mentioning the "elegant man" we elected.

Thanks, Sean, for fucking lecturing us. You can go fuck yourself now.

  • But he was 100% right on when he said he knows how hard he makes it for people to like him. He is an excellent actor, it's a shame he has to politicize everything and be so arrogant about it.

  • You are right. And that's why guys like him and Oliver Stone who are truly talented and then do what they do to fuck it up piss me off to no end. Just shut the fuck up and make movies!

  • You know, I don't have a problem with gays. And I really wouldn't mind it if the government got out of the business of sanctioning relationships. But what I can't stand is the idea that if you don't vote the way Sean Penn wants you to vote then you're an evil wrong-headed person. Fuck Sean Penn. Democracy means sometimes you lose. You got your "elegant" president, be happy with that and stop lecturing those of us who didn't vote for him.

I'm surprised no shout-outs for the Castro regime, and soon to be Chavez regime.

But I thought he was very funny. He was accepting our definition of him and laughing at himself. I liked when he opened his acceptance speech with that.

  • Honey, I laughed when he said that. But it was the lecturing I could have done without.

No doubt Penn was offensive, but he's a known problem, just like the Hollywood crowd in general, so the offense was entirely predictable.

I didn't watch the Oscars; I haven't in ages. I cut TV out of my life along with movies (for all practical purposes), and don't miss any of it. There are other, better ways to spend free time and/or find entertainment.

I figure it makes no sense to subsidize people I neither trust nor respect, certainly not as people. Yes, some of them (a minority) have real talent, but if we don't put our money where our mouth is, they have absolutely no reason to stop being presumptuous, conceited, pernicious SOBs.

Same goes for Castro, Inc., in a way. As long as people keep giving it money or other material support, the regime doesn't give a shit what those people SAY against it.

Was it my TV, or did Sean have a milk mustache?

Sorry, guys ... couldn't help myself. Was known to blurt out in class in high school too.

An hour detention's not so bad ... especially when your boyfriend from the rival high school drives one hell of a street/strip drag car to pick you up afterward.

As Don Humberto would say, "are you guys honestly surprised?" We're talking about Hollywood, for somethings'sake!
