You hit the nail on the head when you spoke about assigning a false purpose or goal to the "embargo."

Here's my take on one way that the Cuban "embargo" has been wildly successful: the US is one of a handful of nations in the world that Cuba didn't stick with millions (or billions) or dollars worth of unpaid bills.

You and I both understand that the US lifting trade restrictions against Cuba, will not elicit equal changes from the Castro brothers.

They will change nothing, and what will end up happening will be an unholy union of amoral American industries, and the Cuban government's treatment of the nation's workforce as property of the "revolution."

Without unilateral changes, lifting trade restrictions will serve to further enslave the people of Cuba.
