What a work of art this letter is. So funny, so serious, so on the mark. Typical of the brilliant writing of this Professor.

Tony,

The nabobs quote was Spiro Agnew. That was easy. No need to google it.

It would be great if I'm wrong, but I'm afraid Eire is simply casting pearls before swine. Besides, the fact he's Cuban will be taken as automatic disqualification. What "those people" think or want is beside the point, even if it IS (or was) their own country at stake.

Henry, since you like to borrow quotes, here is one that made headlines in 1970: "Nattering nabobs of negativism" who were the "hopeless, hysterical hypochondriacs of history." You'll have to Google its origin.

Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, who is this guy? Oh, he studies old history. What does he know about today? Wait a minute...what's this about blacks? Can he be right? Nah. Our own black caucus from congress went and saw everything with their own eyes.
And look how he is trying to butter me up. I've seen this before. Who does he think he is, Aminajad, or a Saudi Prince? Why is he bothering me with this triviality? I am so important and have so much more to do to destroy this country and then I'll work on making myself king of the world. Look, you'd better answer him or else he'll make a stink somewhere.

Dear Professor Eire,
The President wants to thank you for your detailed letter filled with all of that marvelous information. We will be making a study of all that you told us. Letters from Americans, especially those who, like you, understand His Eminence's importance to the world, are very significant to Him. We have printed out your letter and we will be considering all you have told us.
Rest assured that after we have considered it all, your letter will be recycled for a better, greener America.
With best wishes,
Jane Smith
Bureaucrat #756

Kudos, Carlos. It is obvious why "Cubanologists" consider you a heretic. They, along with Cuba-traveling solons, are hypocrites who excoriated the Somoza dynasty in Nicaragua but fawn over the Castro dynasty in Cuba.
