Ball’s in Castro’s Court!

"Cuba has not imposed sanctions against the U.S." and "therefore it is not Cuba that has to make gestures."

Said Raul Castro yesterday.

At a meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement in Havana, Castro brushed off President Obama's easing of travel and money transfers by Cuban-Americans to the island as "fine, positive but [they] only achieved the minimum."

State Dept. spokesperson yesterday during press conference: "Well, nothing has changed in terms of what we’d like to see come from the Cuban Government with regard to some – you know, taking some steps to assure not only the United States but other countries that it’s serious about having a dialogue and dealing with some of these issues that concern us all."

Excuse me but weren't many "CRACKPOTS!!" and "REVANCHISTS!!" predicting this very Castroite response now that "the ball was in their court"

Unreal.

I have been leaving daily messages for Obama at the White House switchboard that I am willing to go on further not-so-secret missions to Havana to straighten out this misunderstanding. I have also been e-mailing Obama daily but have gotten no response yet. Just wait until they realize how important I am!

I wear my crackpot, extremist, miami mafia titles proudly! Anyone who has been following the castro brothers for the past 50 years could have predicted the response with ease, just like everyone at Babalu did.

Unfortunately for the cause of freedom, this Administration doesn't care. Its core beliefs are that we are wrong and that Cuba isn't such a bad place and its rulers are just misunderstood social reformers. Mark my words, Obama and his sycophants want to drop all restrictions and pal up to the Castro's. It's just a matter of time before he breaks another campaign promise.

You guys are reading the minds of the President and what you call sycophants. I also don't have any illusions regarding the Castros, but I think that Obama doesn't have many, either. The guy did something he promised in the campaign and then put the ball in Castros' court. That is exactly what happened. Now, if as you --and me, actually-- expected, the Castro did what they have always done, Obama can wash his hands. He is certainly not in a hurry. And it is not as if he doesn't have enough crap left by the Bushies in his hands as to make paling up with Castro a top priority.

You guys are suffering too much with too much anticipation. So far I see no reason to believe that Obama wants a Marxist Islamo-Fascist Caliphate here.
