But of course, the people of California are all so evolved and progressive and freedom-loving and righteous, aren't they? That's why the entertainment industry is based there, isn't it? Californians are SO concerned about human rights, or so they keep saying. Yet, they elected this Richardson woman, and she obviously feels it's totally safe politically to do what she just did in Cuba and boast about it now, as if she'd just discovered the cure for breast cancer. What is wrong with this picture?

Lee later had the distinction of being the only member of Congress who voted against responding militarily against Afghanistan for the Sept. 11 holocaust.
In the 1980s, Lee was an aide to her House predecesor, the late Ronald Dellums, with whom she had traveled to Cuba and Marxist Grenada.
