Nostalgia

nostalgia2009-225x3001

I had the pleasure of spend some time at the Babalu booth over at Cuba Nostalgia last night. As usual, it was great to catch up with all of our favorite Babalu contributors, founding editors and friends.

As I looked around the display, my attention was diverted more than once to the posts printed on canvas backing which adorn the sides of the frame. The posts are like a "Babalu Classic" collection of favorite posts going all the way back to the early days of the blog. Reading them again made me think back to those days when the blog world was still in its early days, and Cuba blogs in its infancy. Lots of fresh and personal posts were done back then. Of course, this is not to say that we don't crank out excellent material today, because we most definitely do. But it seems like it was a simpler approach back then...and in some ways I miss that.

Anyway, here's an example of one of the posts I'm talking about...one of my favorites.

  • Hey Robert! Sorry I missed you, I couldn't make it out here last night. Will be here all day today and tomorrow though, so I do hope you'll be by again.
Also, some of my favorite posts are the "old school" ones too.
