The Fruits of Cuba’s “Nationalist” Revolution

As you read this recall that--according to MSM and Academic folklore--Cuba under Batista was a debauched, sybaritic, shameless, humiliated, exploited, etc. etc. etc. "playground for rich foreigners."

Thank God THAT's over!

No writer for Jon Stewart of Letterman could MAKE this stuff up!

Below is what was said in an article that quoted Mark Entwistle. He and some of his other business partners were going around buying the U.S. Certified Claims. The claimant's are Americans and Cuban Americans that owned property in Cuba and these political VIP's are gaining financially by buying the claims at a discount because they are trying to protect foreign investors that are building golf courses and condos on their properties. If you google this guy, you will realize how much he's in the mix with Cuban investments. He has some American ex-VIP diplomats that are working at ending the embargo without any real political change. Change in the Castro Brothers might upset their plans, so they want to end or relax the trade embargo and continue to do business as usual in Cuba.

It is funny how Castro hated Batista for letting American's invest in Cuba, and now that's the only way Castro will survive. The only difference is it's the Canadians and British now and not the Americans.

    ARTICLE BELOW

“The message from Cuba is: bring on golf projects,” former Canadian ambassador to Cuba Mark Entwistle said.

Entwistle hopes to develop Cuba’s first golf community on the island’s eastern end, with hundreds of villas and apartments centered on a 36-hole course.

Entwistle knows of at least 11 other projects involving Canadian, British and Spanish developers. The man driving Cuba’s golf effort is Raul Castro, the long-serving defense minister who became acting president when his older brother Fidel took ill in July, 2006. Raul, who is more a fan of cockfighting than golf, was named president on Sunday.

Alarmed at the decline in the number of tourists to Cuba, Raul has urged senior officials to make golf happen. The government is setting up an inter-agency golf task force but officials involved say they are not authorized to comment on it.

To make golf tourism work, Cuba, which does not recognize the right to buy and sell property, will have to permit leases of as long as 75 years for foreigners, to entice them to invest. Some believe those leases are the tip of the spear that will, over time, reinstate full property rights.

    Simpatica,

Castro never hated Batista for letting Americans invest in Cuba, that was just one of his lies, a cheap justification for usurping Cuba's presidency and becoming Commandante for life. IN fact, his robolucion was not nationalistic. The first thing that he did was to make Cuba a colony of the U.S.S.R. So we went from being a country under Batista that was independent [but admittedly heavily influenced by the U.S.A.] to a full-fledged Soviet Colony! Some change! Now, he and his brother are selling off Cuba to the highest bidder. Doesn't matter if its Spain whom he used to rail against for 500 years of colonialism, Europe, Canada or even the USA. As long has his Mafia Clique stays in power, he's happy and he will do what ever it takes. He's already turned Cuba into a brothel. More indignities are to come.
