Have we “earned this”?

Maggie (a/k/a DrillANWR) over at Infidels Paradise has written a superb commentary on D-Day + 65 years later that is today's must read. Here's a sampling:

Right now we have a “President” (and a Congress) in this country who, on one hand, believes he can meet, talk, and reason without preconditions those enemies today who would see us and our allies completely obliterated. On the other hand, he has spent the most part of his public addresses to the world in less than a half year apologizing for our strengths and in doing so has minimized our losses and lessons learned in our own history … and has shunned and shamed our victories and accomplishments … simply because it doesn’t fit HIS high brow image of his own importance. Even in victory the United States has been wrong in his mind. In the heart of our current enemy’s realm he presented an appeasing address to our enemy’s masses (forgetting the populace of Nazi Germany, though not personally involved in the war and killing, did nothing to object or resist it amongst their own countrymen) that would have made Chamberlain burst with pride while making Churchill gasp and bellow of the impending dangers ahead that his own fellow countryman had just set before the world. Even our media seeks to make us (and our allies) the villan and minimize the real victims (in history and today) in their attempts to hoist up today’s enemy as victims.

    Let's have a nostalgia moment.
Remember when Hillary harshly admonished Obama during the debates that he was naive to say he would meet with Iran with no preconditions?
Okay, end of nostalgia...now back to the real world.
AAAHHHHHH. No I don't want to go back to the real world!

We must upset the apple cart of these monsters currently in control of our beloved country. We must vote them out and try to teach whomever we can the error of the ways of this group.

My historian friend in San Francisco 'messaged' me her concerns for the two American journalists just sentenced to 12 yrs hard labor in NKorea.

I then informed her of that being the 'process' by which NKorea operates ... leverage/bargaining chips with this administration to get what they want in exchange for the 2 women. Give it a couple weeks ... but we won't know fully exactly what was exchanged for their freedom. Give it a couple weeks.

I then proceeded to inform her that NKorea is clearing their east coast waters. Currently they have two ICBM-type missiles on launch pads on both coasts that have been in place for roughly a week. I also told her that this sea clearing was done prior to the nuclear test and the launching of several "test" missiles a couple weeks ago.

She then, looking for "hope", chimed, "Maybe one of our ships will blow one of those missiles out of the sky ... just like we've been practicing".

I then said, "Nope ... Do you know why? ... Because Obama is on record/video prior to the election that he was going to discontinue funding for 'unproven missile defense systems' ... and never acknowledged our testing them and 'proving' them (See: USS Lake Erie, for starters) after his making that 'de-funding the military' campaign ad. To use one now to take out a NKorean missile would prove him a clueless liar ... and throw a wrench into his plans to cut defense spending. Shooting himself in the foot, so to speak."

That, and the fact he doesn't have the balls to gamble his "popularity" and back up, follow through, and sustain any offensive action he might stumble himself into ... It would be another Clinton/Blackhawk Down scenario ...
