For the record, I'm laughing and crying, at the same time, is that's possible at all...
Good thing there are not Cuban restaurants up here, north of the Mile High City. If I ever decide to open one, I'll make sure is way out of Denver's taxmen.
Won't miss a thing; I hauled my platanos machos directly from Miami and fry them at home. Sorry for the city thinkers and money grabbers in the local goverment ;(
Whoever have the contact info for the hot air balloons Cubans up here, please, give it to me!!! (I've been working on different models of home-made raft and possible destinations rafting from RMNP, since Nov 5th 2008 to be more exact. No success so far...
Seriously; FYI, quite a few Cubans have been relocating around here in the past months, either by themselves or with the refugee relocation agencies, to work in the meatpacking plants in Greeley and Fort Morgan.
Uff... maybe Denver's politicians are counting with the potential increase in the demand of the platanos maduros, who knows.
It's for the greater good, Val. We have to sacrifice and be miserable to be a better nation...
(P.S., I love always being right.)
I heard that some Denver Cubans are trying to escape from the city in makeshift hot air balloons.
