“The U.S.-Backed Dictator” wannabe Zelaya
"Officials say Secretary of State Clinton will likely meet Mr. Zelaya in Washington Tuesday in a high-level show of support for the ousted leader."
Batista was embargoed by the U.S., given his walking papers by the U.S. ambassador, then prohibited from setting foot in the U.S.
Yet I defy you to find me an MSM or academic reference to him not preceded by the nefarious qualifier: "U.S.-Backed."
Zelaya, who attempted to trash the Honduran Constitution, was in the U.S. yesterday and will be back tomorrow for a meeting with Hillary to show her support.
So we will search the MSM diligently for any hint that this corrupt trasher of his nation's judicial process is "U.S.-Backed."

You're swimming up stream Humberto,
the game is already rigged. Might as well go fishing
)
Zelaya is a left wing thug and goose stepping, boot licker of Chavez and Fidel.
This is beyond sick.
The armed services of Honduras acted under the auspices of the Supreme Court (13-0) with the approval of Zelaya's Attorney General and Solicitor General, as well as the complete approbation of the national congress. (where his party has the majority)
The people of Honduras have rejected darkness and barbarism, they do NOT want to be like Cuba or Venezueala.
God Bless Honduras.
Fontova, you hit the nail square on the head! That is a great point. Why is Batista a U.S. backed head of state, but not Zelaya?
No need to answer, we all know. It depends on whether you are perceived as a leftist or a righteous.
This is getting more disgusting by the hour. I hope Honduras sticks to its guns, draws the line in the sand (or dirt) and stands up to the State Dept.
Talk about "American intervention in Latin American affairs" --- this is an outrage. Like Arafat during the Clinton years, the banana dictators have found a friend in the White House. Aaaargh!
Mr. Mojito...
"You`re swimming up stream Humberto."
No way jose....Humberto and the rest of us are may be swimming up steam BUT we are going to get to our goal.
Maybe right away...maybe later. BUT GET TO OUR GOAL WE WILL. (SMILE).
I can't understand for the life of me what this administration doesn't see in a man that defied the law and was selfish! It's all in the fineprint yet they show support for Zelaya! Scared of a little conflict Obama???
Obama is either (a) an idiot. (b) showing his true nature/agenda.
I choose b.
Oh, and no one can pretend that they weren't warned.

Ziva,
I also choose b.
But Obama is not the problem, nor is Pelosi. I am a broken record. It is the American people who love Obama with their heads in the sand who have me apoplectic.
I plan to send this to my few conservative friends. I fear for the brave people of Honduras. May they prevail despite our disgusting administration.
Honey I agree the blame lies with those who voted for him. However, and to me it is a big but... there has been decades of orchestrated indoctrination going on by a united front from our educational system, Hollywood, the MSM, the ACLU--the list goes on, much of it courtesy the bearded dictator. It’s been pervasive, wrapped in feel good slogans that unsuspecting Americans didn't recognize as a threat. Obama, the Manchurian president is in my opinion, most definitely a problem.
For those who've expressed dismay over Uribe's backing of Zelaya, it's par for the course. Uribe's concerns begin and end with Colombia. He doesn't care about any other country's problems or issues, only about what he thinks will either help or hurt him with respect to the Colombian situation. No doubt he's the best leader Colombia has had in a long time, but he should not be looked to for help or support by non-Colombians (which definitely includes Cubans). He's very, VERY focused on his own domestic concerns, period.
Read this "Reinstating deposed President Manuel Zelaya would be a disaster" in Slate (Yeah, I know its Slate but read it anyway.)
I had some trouble finding that story at Slate, so here the link for others:

I'm glad someone finally explained why they removed Zelaya from office the way they did: the Honduran Constitution does not include an impeachment procedure, and its Congress is entitled to name a new president only in the absence of the current one. Hence, Zelaya had to be exiled.
... The first big warning sign was when the Che Guevara flags turned up in Obama's Houston campaign offices.
