    This is just surreal!!!

Hey, but at least we now know that behind the Capitalist success story of Nike (Greek Goddess of Victory) ... the name itself, may be a double entendre in recognition of a possible hero of the Limousine Libs, more likely heading the company these days:
NIKE = NIKITA (Khrushchev) LOL!!! ;) ... all in the name of "democracy"!

I wish you well :) Melek

"History shows that there is nothing so easy to enslave and nothing so hard to emancipate as ignorance, hence it becomes the double enemy of civilization. By its servility it is the prey of tyranny, and by its credulity it is the foe of enlightenment."

  • Val, it gets worse, something has been redacted from your copy, see here:

On the actual news story below in the above link you will notice an outfit called:

Center for Economic and Policy Research

They are a hard left, pro-Castro, pro-Chavez organization which is run by a guy named Wiesbrot, whom I spoke to last week, because he wrote a filthy, scathing "op-ed" diatribe in the LA Times against Micheletti and in favor, of course, of the socialist thug, Mel Zelaya.

Apparently, they were "hired" or blackmailed to represent these companies. Notice the tone of the letter and the call for a puported return to "democracy"???? As if they business environment under Zelaya was stable.....

I just emailed them and said I would not buy another Nike product. The email is on the contact us link.

Labor Abuse Runs Rampant Among Nike's Factories
In 2003, Phillip Knight, the CEO of Nike, earned more than $2 million. In that same year, the average employee in one of Nikes small industrial embroidery factories in Honduras earned about 93 cents per hour, working 10 hours of overtime per week.

According to Nikes employees in Honduras, they are under constant pressure to reach production goals. They work in factories, where temperatures range from 94 to 100 degrees. During a typical 12-hour shift, factory workers get one 30-minute supper break. They are on their feet tending to the silk screening machines the rest of the day.

So why are Nikes factory workers without a union? According to these workers, union affiliation is a threat to their job security. The general manager of the Nike factory in Honduras told his employees that he would prefer to close the factory, and to leave them without jobs, than to accept unions. When Nikes employees met with NikeWatch, an organization dedicated to improving conditions for Nikes laborers, they told the representatives that if the company found out that they were meeting with NikeWatch, they would be fired immediately. ....
    Maybe this is why?

    Nike JUST SCREW IT!

  • Lori G.

This is unbelievable. NIKE just stopped existing as far as I'm concerned. Not buying that brand again. Bet ya there's a letter somewhere from them to BO, in support of lifting the embargo to Cuba. Wouldn't be a damned bit surprised.

  • Mr. Mojito

Nike loves Commies and Adidas who supplies Fidel with all of his track suits for free does as well.

    Time to wear Reebok ?

These have never been violated!! (but don't look for that on CNN)
