Message to the Florida GOP

Let me just toss this out there for the Republican Party of Florida:

How about Gov. Charlie Crist appoints Marco Rubio to the Senate seat being vacated by Mel Martinez?

Thus, not only would we have a true conservative in the Senate right away, but then the 2010 is a no brainer:

Rubio would have the experience necessary to beat any Democrat opposition, while the Governor completes his term and better serves his constituency.

Surely, Crist would be a much better opponent against the incumbent Nelson in 2012 than anyone else in the party, no?

Val, you so crazy! I mean, child please.

  • Yes, I know asombra. It's too unbelievably logical and simplistic!

  • Right on; right on. [Insert Cubanism About Eating.]

This was what I recommended for Crist the first I heard about the Senator's retiring. But I said it for a different reason.
I said it because if Crist is really brave, he could appoint Rubio and THEN let's see him debate him for the Senate seat. He would really have earned it if he could beat Rubio after Rubio was a bit more well known.

    Brilliant!

Which means that the Florida GOP will now throw you under the bus.

You know, Val, your suggestion is like somebody telling Clinton, in the midst of Monicagate, that the only honorable thing would be to resign after disgracing his office, defiling the White House and publicly lying about it. The answer to which, in the best-case scenario, would have been "Fuck off, you right-wing conspirator!"

See, Val, you're using my "Sarah Palin resigns and hands over the seat to her Lt. Governor" theory.

    Are you crazy Val?

If the rest of the State (outside of South FL) would get a hold of Marco Rubio and what he stands for, Charlie Crist would be toast, frito, caput.

Marco Rubio is a down to earth politician and the real thing, with real conservative values looking out for the people that he serves, whether Charlie, well…don’t get me started as RINO is too kind of the word to accurately describe him.
