See The Real America

Sunset at Navajo Point

If you want to get away from this crap, there's no better place to go than Arizona. And when in Arizona, there's no better place to be than on the rim of the Grand Canyon at Sunset.

When you're in the desert, you don't bother to read the paper, or watch TV, or bother with the crap going on elsewhere. All you want to do is chase the light.

This image was taken at Navajo Point on the Eastern Rim of Grand Canyon National Park near Desert View.

Here's another reason to consider living in Arizona.

WOW! Great photo as always. I love that area of the country and the people there. I have considered moving to Arizona, Wyoming or Montana after I retire but I would miss my pastelitos and cortaditos probably too much.

  • Cubanita

Beautiful, gorgeous view! Love the picture! ... adn seriously considering moving to AZ (along with TX) if things keep getting unglier around here.

Thanks Mike. Will have to check those out next time I am out there. I am thinking of going to Arizona, Utah, Wyoming and Montana sometime next year, probably end of April or May, nice long relaxing vacation and lots of pictures, of course not as good as yours.

  • Orgullosa, write me before you plan on going and I'll set you up with the perfect itinerary.

  • Cubanita

OMG! How come I couldn't find that Cubanito when I was in Tucson last summer! Damn ;-(

  • Mr. Mojito

Maybe we should all make Phoenix the new Little Havana.

We'll have to ban all the Mehicanos in their Zapata/Che/Chavez attire though :)

  • I love the cloud formation in the sky and the colors. Beutiful pic. Do you ever get afraid of heights up there? And also , did you get to take any pics of the wildlife in that area?

  • Colena, not afraid of heights per see as long as I'm on solid ground. I just don't like climbing on loose rocks with a backpack of camera gear. I have pics of deer and bugs from the area. Will post soon or check out my flickr.

  • My arthritic knees and I can't wait to get to Arizona! Woo hoo!
