4 Millones

This humble blog will reach the 4 million unique visitor mark sometime today. It's not an extraordinary number of readers by the larger blog standards, but it is a respectable number for a blog that concentrates, for the most part, on a relatively single issue.

I am proud of this blog. I am proud of the contributors of this blog. I am proud of our readers. And I am forever grateful to all of you out there in cyber space that have supported this endeavor over the years. Not only are every one of you family - whether a contributor, an editor, a linker, a reader, or those that forward our writings to friends and family - but from having been on the internet six years, I am absolutely certain you all share a profound love for three things:

Cuba - our country of origin in one way or another.

The United States of America - the greatest country on Earth.

And, most importantly:

Freedom.

It fills me with an incredibly profound pride to know that not only do those of you that support this blog cherish your freedoms, but that you cherish and cultivate and nurture that freedom for all.

Thank you for the honor of allowing me to be family, and for the privilege to fight for freedom at your side.

I thank you Val and all of the others with you for this blog. I feel like you are my family. In my surroundings I am the outsider, and it gives me so much comfort when I visit babalu. And I enjoy the privilege of writing my responses to the excellent posts. I love the videos you find for us and the columns you link to. As I told you before, this blog is my three favorite things. It is always anti communist, always angry and always funny. You validate me so much.

I don't know if anyone remembers the Twilight Zone episode where a hideously disfigured man commits a crime and he is banished to another planet. As he steps off the spaceship he looks around and realizes that everyone here looks like HIM. babalu is my planet. I am at home here.
Thank you for all of your hard work. It is much appreciated by this non Cuban.

  • Orgullosa de ser Cubana

Congratulations to all of you for doing such a great job. I agree with Honey, when I visit this blog I feel like I am home and all of you are family. I have been reading this blog for years and I have found a group that shares my believes and my views. Again, thanks to all of you for doing such a great job...and I wish you many millions more!

  • Val, congrats on this awesome milestone. You have much to be proud of and Babalu has become THE go to source for information by all those who seek a free and castro-less Cuba. There is only one Babalu and only one you and we are grateful for your vision. Thank you for making this Philly Italian a part of your Babalú family. It is an honor.
    Felicidades!!

  • A well-deserved congratulations! I am out-of-my-skin proud to be a part of this amazing Babalu family.
It seems to me that in these past few years Babalu has become a force to be reckoned with in cyberspace. (That is no small feat.)

Kudos to you, Val. Babalu has indeed become an island on the net without a bearded dictator for those of us who are unabashed lovers of freedom.

(4 million? Does that constitute a mob?) =D

    Besos,
    Marta

    Congratulations Val, Heny and George.

I know how much time, work and dedication you have invested into the cause of a free Cuba by informing the world about the Cuban reality.

Make no mistake, Babalu has made a difference by countering the MSM's fifty years love affair with Fidel Castro and company.

  • Four Million! Bravo!

Got to love it in light of those wankers who wrote us off and continue to write us off.

Big Congrats from the Desert Rat

  • Wow, another milestone! I just checked the dashboard, and there are 12,562 posts. A huge hug and thanks to our Babalu family for making this island on the net home, and ditto all the above.

  • OmarD

Congratulations Val, and to all who have made this possible. IMHO, it's all about values, and this blog stands out as one big very big standard bearer.

  • Melek

    Cogratulations!

At the end of the day, even if Babalu has successfully educated one person on the reality of Cuba and the responsibility that accompanies freedom, you have been a success!

Ditto on all the great and positive comments posted by my fellow neighbors in the virtual vecindario de Babalu!

Keep up the good work! You are without doubt and to the chagrin of a few, making a difference!

I wish you well :) Melek

Amen, Honey. Just a couple of "white chicks" hanging with da boyz @ Babalu, and the rest of the gracious American-Cuban-American community here.

BTW, Val, if I am 4 million I want ... like ... a T-shirt or something. If Babalu Blog doesn't have an official T-shirt (and you SHOULD!) just gimme one out of your closet ... Hanes ... FTL ... whatever ... pref. washed.

Congratulations Val and Babalu for this milestone. You guys are one of the main reasons I have changed my views (voluntarily) from liberal to conservative. Your blog has opened my eyes on the realities that this country faces. I also am a proud supporter of Cuban liberty (despite not being Cuban). Keep up the good work guys!

  • Mr. Mojito

    Nice Work :)

Val thank you, thank all of you for all you guys do and for posting this information about the 4 Million. I had a lump in my throat as I read your post. I am personally so proud of all of you for the courage, dedication and steadfastness that you show on this blog. Add one more to the ones that feel like you are family, for indeed you are. My real family has all passed away, and I so dearly miss those conversations where the topic of freedom was passionately the center of our lives. I regain those feelings and that determination when once or twice a day I come in here looking for refreshment. The truth of our times stings, but there is nothing quite so vindicating as hearing those truths bravely exposed.
May God amply bless and protect you and your families as you continue with your mission. May you never lose your vision or grow discouraged. I am sure that as our country continues on its present path there will be many more that will find themselves coming through these portals.

I want to thanks Val and everyone else who makes this blog possible.

I hit it at least twice a day 'cause in my opinion is the best blog about cuban issues in the whole world.

    Millon de gracias y pa'lante...!!!

    saludos
