Obama honors American-hater Mrs. Robinson

Once again, President Obama's choice reveals an anti-American, anti-democracy ideology.  Last fall voters ignored his radical associations, and chose instead to vote for change they wanted to believe in.  Now we have a president who not only has sided with enemy dictators,  he is now awarding our nations highest civilian honor, the Presidential Medal of Freedom to American-hater Mary Robinson, whose response to the criticism is to accuse "certain elements" of bullying.

The reaction has been swift:

New York Post - Bad choice.

Robinson's views are well out of the American foreign-policy mainstream. Rep. Peter King (R-LI) says, "She is definitely from the school of moral equivalency which somehow invariably comes down on the side against vibrant democracies such as Israel and the United States."

Despite her noble commitment to human rights, Robinson has become a symbol of all that's wrong in the human-rights community and the United Nations -- of the tendency to appease dictatorships, rationalize terrorism and bash the West.

The Republican Jewish Coalition

Among the past recipients of the Medal of Freedom are people who personify some of America's greatest ideals. They include men and women who have fought for freedom, such as Aung San Suu Kyi, Natan Sharansky, Rosa Parks, and Jeane Kirkpatrick; advocates of human rights such as Elie Wiesel, Mother Teresa, and Simon Wiesenthal; and foreign leaders whose courage and leadership have contributed to world peace and security, such as John Howard, Tony Blair, Vaclav Havel, and Margaret Thatcher.

Brooks continued, "The choice of Mary Robinson for this award calls into serious question the White House vetting process, given Robinson's well-known record, particularly with regard to the 2001 Durban conference. The U.S. boycotted the conference and it was the subject of intense public discussion. If the White House staff passed on Robinson's name knowing how controversial and troubling the choice would be, that's wrong in and of itself. If Robinson's name made it onto the Medal of Freedom list because the White House staff was unaware of how controversial she was, that's even worse."

"I cant understand how Obama recieved even one Jewish vote."

"I can't understand why Obama was elected, period!"

And I imagine the Democrats are very happy to hear that.

I think this explains part of the problem:

    http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/opinions/some-simple-principles-for-reviving-the-gop/article1230809/

But I bet the GOP ignores all of this. So I hold out little hope for 2010 or even 2012.

    dc,
Your link is to advice from the left, either the left of the other party or of the Republican party.
Reagan won in a landslide because he stayed true to first principles.
When our side remembers that, that is when we win elections. Small govt. lower taxes and personal control of our own lives. That's what our side must run on, the anti Obama platform.

McCain did not lose by a huge margin and he was not an ideal candidate. If the crisis hadn't shown up in September, McCain might have pulled it off. Obama ran using moderate rhetoric. So did most of the dems. If they ever ran on what they would really do, they would all lose every election. If the American people are paying attention and see how the rhetoric of the campaign is far to the right of the reality of how they "govern", I think 2010 may be a pleasant surprise for my side.

    dccuban,

My views are based on the following:

    1. Barack Hussein Obama's political record and his agenda for America.

    2. Barack Hussein Obama's ideology.

    3. Barack Hussein Obama's choice of friends and associations.

    4. Barack Hussein Obama's campaign rhetoric which was full of lies to the people that went unchallenged by the MSM.

Now the American people are getting a taste of the current President many broken promises.

    5. Barack Hussein Obama's foreing policy views (apologize and blame America for everything) and his embracing of scumbags around the world like Chavez, Zelaya, Kadhafi, Ahmadinejad and Fidel and Raul Castro to name a few (what a group of distinguished scumbags if you asked me).

There is not a single scumbag around the world that our current President doe not like to embrace and I wonder why. Maybe birds of the same feather hang together.

By the way, after Democrats took control of Congress in 2006, America's economic decline began.

Yet we still hear that is all the fault of George W. Bush and the Republicans.

    BULLSHIT.

There are quite a few issues that I may disagree the way that George W. Bush handled them while in office but, in all fairness to him I blame the MSM, the Democrats and the American people for swallowing the line hook and sinker of lies from Barack Hussein Obama.

Now the people are paying the price for their stupidity as they chose to ignore the obvious signs that Barack Hussein Obama was not the right man for the highest office in the land.

The only issue I have with the current Republican Party in America today is fact that it is full of RINOs that don't have the balls and the principles to stand-up to the President and the Democrats.

    Honey,

With the sentence above you have described the very essence of the Democratic Party.

Blatantly lie to the people in order to be elected to office.

  • Mr. Mojito

Sadly though I think that Non-Cuban Hispanics might be the death knell of the GOP. Many Hispanics (I don't really like this term, but we all know what it means) come from a culure where they look to the govt for help - and Comrade Obama makes the perfect Caudillismo.

    Viva Socialismo ... (PUKE)

The Jews, at least American Jews, are apparently a very conflicted lot, exceptions aside. Lord knows Cubans have major issues of their own, so I'm hardly looking down my nose, but really, it's both truly sad and extremely frustrating. Basically, the Jews are, or should be, much too good to carry on as so many of them do.

  • Honey

    asombra,
The Jews think of themselves as having good intentions and "caring" so much more than I do. They are taken in by Obama's words and are so vested in love of him that it becomes impossible for them to find fault. In other words, they are liberals.
But I know conservative Jews. We are not as vocal or as smitten with cult of personality syndrome as liberal Jews are. We are like what Durbin said about the Tea Parties. We are driven by special interests and really do not reflect the main opinions of people in this country. Yeah, right. That's why our numbers are growing.

I have had the most shocking things said to me by liberal Jews. These are people of the we must never forget variety and the how did the world stand by and let this happen variety. Yet these "good" people have said things to me that stunned me in their insensitivity and worse.

I really would love 2010 to give us a pleasant surprise and give the left a big splash of the offending cold water of truth.
