A single word on Obama’s speech last night

After watching Obama do his shtick last night for almost an hour, I honestly believe that if I use the same definition of torture the leftist element in this country uses, I have a solid case against the US government. The speech was classic Obama -- a perfectly delivered address replete with rhetoric and painfully devoid of any reality or truthfulness.

Regardless of  his skillful delivery, however, a single word kept popping into my head.

¡GUAYABA!

guayaba

  • you spent a perfectly good hour watching that? I watched the Marlins/Mets game.

"...devoid of any reality" - dittos. Then again, isn't that the purpose for drinking the kool-aid?

Up here we call it ALL show and NO go. Only caught the portion that Mark had on his program and only because he was doing the play-by-play. Joe Wilson was my highlight - the only worthwhile thing that took place the entire hr.

Using the same definition of turture the leftist element...You are torturing me with that beautiful guayaba photograph.

  • Mike:

I took the speech as an opportunity to illustrate to my two teenage kids how Obama is ruining their future. It didn't make the speech any more palatable, but my kids got a good look at the future the president envisions for them and they are not at all thrilled about it.

    Good for you Alberto!

  • My 10 year old saw Obama's speech at his school the other day and I asked him, so what the Prez say, and my son says, "he says to be responsible, to wash your hands, and to stay home if you're sick." I say, anything else? He says, "no, that's about it."

Good thing you used a guayaba and not a watermelon (which, but of course, would have been racist).

Had a timba today. I couldn't get Guayaba out of my head either. "Guaya guaya guaya guaya con timba,. Timba timba timba timba con guaya..." Had that song stuck in my head
