You're kidding me, right? You mean the Herald didn't publish this letter? Well, I'm shocked, SHOCKED, I tell you! Why, that's almost as unbelievable as the Herald not publishing numerous letters of outrage over the Chihuahua incident! If memory serves, just ONE letter was published about Mr. Fiedler's canine crack; it was technically critical, but almost apologetically so. Letters with far sharper teeth (and considerably bigger bites than a Chihuahua's) WERE sent to the Herald, but I guess they were somehow lost or misdelivered. Of course, if they did get to the Herald, I'm sure they weren't published for purely altruistic reasons--I expect the Herald was simply trying to protect the writers from displaying too much intransigence (I mean, you know how bad THAT looks, at least to people who are chummy with Carl Hiaasen).
