Isn’t it interesting… (Updated)
Isn't it interesting that the folks on the left who quashed Rush Limbaugh's attempt to own an NFL football team by citing and constantly repeating racist quotes that he never said, are the same folks who screeched like little girls when damaging quotes by Obama administration officials, which they actually said, were publicized?
And isn't it also interesting that the irony of it all is completely lost on them?
Update (Val): The Huffington Post pulls the bogus quotes and CNN's Rick Sanchez kinda sorta apologizes, but really, not really on twitter:
i've know rush. in person,i like him. his rhetoric, however is inexcusably divisive. he's right tho. we didn't confirm quote. our bad.
Rick Sanchez, the token cubanito on CNN, is a douchebag, and certainly no one to be talking about the inexcusability of anything.
Perhaps the legal departments of both CNN and HuffPo could smell the aroma of lawsuits in the air?
More from a Mark Steyn reader, via Ed Driscoll:
As I am sure you are aware, the fake Limbaugh quotes have been traced to the Rush Limbaugh Wikiquote page, dating from July of 2005 (see the following link to see when the quotes were added). The Jack Huberman book that most people source for these quotes did not come out until the following year.
The quotes were added by a user with the IP address of 69.64.213.146. This address has been used mostly to make changes to the article about Rush, but also Karl Rove, Sean Hannity, Rush, James Dobson and Sara Palin from 2005 until earlier this year.
While others have noted this in various forums, no one seems to have made the connection that this IP address is used as a gateway by the law firm Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler LLP (see here, for example) that all users from that IP address come from the pbwt.com domain.)
Given the likelihood that Limbaugh will sue over this, I find it interesting that the source of these bogus quotes is probably a lawyer…
Update (Val): It seems this is about much more than Rush and the NFL and guess who is behind it all? Why, the Obama administration, of course. This is the most pathetic, most disgusting, most coniving and most disingenuous presidential administration in the history of this country.

It's not lost on them Alberto. It's worse. The see it, understand it, know it. It's just that they choose to ignore it. Their hypocrisy is blinding.
I agree with you to a certain extent, Val; there are many on the left that see and understand the irony and choose to ignore it. But I also believe that there is a substantially large number of morons on the left that do not possess the intellectual wherewithal to discern the irony of their statements. By design, these idiots are the loudest. There is a huge intellectual difference between Obama and the half-brained guanajos spewing lies on the internet from their basements.
Gonad Check
How many are willing to take a stand and boycott any NFL products including attending games?
Don't worry I regrettably already know the answer.
Thats why we will never see a change for the better. We are not willing to pay the price.
Pototo,
I suspect that next year, we will ALL be forced to "boycott" the NFL. Players Union contract expires and the Players Union - who have just flexed their muscles with this Rush issue - want more, more, more.
You are incorrect, Alberto. There are no basements in Pembroke Pines.
Hey, didn't you get the memo? The double-standard rules. And don't we Cubans know it.
You are right, George, but there are closets, which is where I suspect that some guanajos in Pembroke Pines prefer to hide.
Rick Sanchez, by the way, is considerably worse than an ordinary douchebag. If he were in Cuba, he'd probably give Randy Alonso a run for his money.
While leftist talking heads with helium-filled brains rise, Sanchez soars.
What happened to living in America and doing as you please as long as you abide by the law? Rush is an entrepreneur with sufficient capital to be able to invest in an NFL franchise if he desires. Does Rush say things that can be interpreted by others as racist, yes, but the comment is not. He will never risk his $30 million salary. Folks, this is reverse racism. The usual people have come out to bash the right (Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, etc.) in defense of black people. Not one person has been able to play audio of that quote. Why? Because it does not exist. It is like saying, Rick Sanchez hit a pedestrian outside of Joe Robbie Stadium in 1991 and left that person to die in the middle of the street and then came back to the scene. A DUI test was conducted hours later and showed his alcohol level was above the legal limit. Oh, wait. That did happen !! He is a joke and on the contrary to popular belief, he is a joke as a Hispanic. I hope Rush sues everyone ass who prevented him from buying the team (damages, potential earnings) and those who slandered his name with a baseless quote. Awesome journalism Ricardo !!

The problem is that the NFL is so good and addicting that noone will boycott them over this.
They have a monopoly on pro football fans ... so conservatives are left grabbing our collective ankles and cheering on those dolphins/jets etc.
I have a feeling Rush is going to make this lawsuit as public and embarrassing as possible for all involved. More power to ya, El Rushbo...
