Breaking: Lieberman, others to filibuster public option
In a devastating blow to the Obama administration's hopes of lining up 60 Senate votes for a government-run health insurance program, Senator Joe Lieberman said Tuesday that he'll join the Republicans in filibustering against the measure. Other moderate Democrats, too, say they cannot support creating a massive government healthcare bureaucracy that could destroy the U.S. private insurance industry.
