Charlie Crist (R) (D)
Charlie Crist should save us all the trouble and just switch to the Democrat party. Not only does he embrace the Democrat party's irresponsible stimulus package and thoroughly enjoyed physically embracing The One himself, but now he is engaging in Democrat/Chicago style politics.
Via Red State, we have the latest chapter of Charlie Crist's inglorious political transformation.
Charlie Crist Attacks Marco Rubio With a Fake (and poorly done) Website
Talk about desperation. Charlie Crist has set up a fake website to cover the “truth” about Marco Rubio.. Why do I call it a fake website?
Well, the website’s domain registry shows this:
Registered through: GoDaddy.com, Inc. (http://www.godaddy.com)
Domain Name: TRUTHABOUTRUBIO.COM
Created on: 27-Oct-09
Expires on: 27-Oct-11
Last Updated on: 27-Oct-09The website has blog posts time stamped all the way back to 2007 even thought it was only created yesterday.
It tries to tie Marco Rubio to a Hitler video parody of Charlie Crist — a video Rubio condemned upon finding out about it (he should have gone after it for a lack of comedic value other than the sun tan jab), but that this Charlie Crist backed site is fixated on.
Funny how the Crist Hitler video appeared on October 24th and the Anti-Rubio site came out three days later and just happens to have as its big story the Hitler video, complete with polling.
Hmmmm . . . .
Is Crist so desperate that he puts out an exceedingly lame video and then tries to blame Rubio for it?
Why am I guessing this is Charlie Crist hit job? Well, first the Democrats have no need to attack Rubio now.
Secondly, the anti-Rubio website has a Twitter Account. And who was following the site until twenty minutes ago? Michelle Todd. Who is Michelle Todd? Special Assistant to Governor Charlie Crist. Likewise, the Senate GOP Conference is following and Mike Reed from the NRSC is following.
I wonder what an Open Records Act request to the Governor’s Office for IP information related to the anti-Rubio site would turn up.
UPDATE: Also following and being followed by the twitter account is William McGinley, General Counsel to the National Republican Senatorial Committee. Hmmm . . . given the number of NRSC connections, I wonder if they have something to do with this too.
What's next, Charlie? Are you going to enlist ACORN and the SEIU to break some legs?
UPDATE
Once again, via RedState:
Is Rich Heffley Connected to the Anti-Rubio Website?
Rich Heffley is a Charlie Crist appointee to the Florida Sports Foundation.
Heffley is a lobbyist and Republican operative who played a big behind-the-scenes role in Crist’s 2006 campaign and just recently helped secure victory for Amendment 1 and John McCain.
A RedState reader prowled through the source code for the anti-Rubio website and found an interesting file that comes up. Here’s the source code:

Heffley has also maxed out to Charlie Crist’s Senate campaign.
I put in a call to Mr. Heffley, but have not heard back from him.
UPDATED: The Crist campaign has now taken down the anti-Rubio site.

don't forget crist's connection with the king of mudslingers, Roger Stone. Stone miraculously came up with a security tape showing the Gov making out with a woman (his future beard...I mean wife) just when the speculation was that he might be a VP choice. Stone is as dirty as they come. Crist's involvement with this GOP "operative" should have given all Republicans a pause before voting for him.
"The website has blog posts time stamped all the way back to 2007 even thought it was only created yesterday."
At least the way the site appears now, all of the time stamps are actually at the bottom of each entry.
The dates from 2007 and 2008 are the dates of the stories the blog entries link back to.
Maybe the site is poorly designed (at least I think it is) but they are not really claiming that the blog posts themselves go back to 2007. Not when the real time stamps are so clearly visible.
Did the site change this since Red State wrote the article? Could be, I dunno. I just looked at it now for the first time.
"UPDATED: The Crist campaign has now taken down the anti-Rubio site."
Well, they might have, but it is back up now.
Can anyone tell what / if they changed anything?
Yeah, the site is still up.
Someone should ask Orange Charlie about the Green Iguana.
