Google running ads for Obama?
Weasel Zippers posted a You Tube video of the White House celebrating "Hispanic" music. It's hilarious watching the Obama's dance like white folks, but I was taken aback at the Google banner ad running at the bottom of the screen.
Here's a screen shot.
I watched the video several more times and the ad has not shown again. Is this something new? I don't remember ever seeing an ad for any presidents proposed legislation before this.
Watch it here.

Nothing to see here.
Google owns YouTube.
YouTube gets paid to run on-screen ads (started these ads a few months ago).
This is no different than an ad for ShamWow. The "Ads by Google" tag is the same as you'll see in blogspot ads everywhere, it's not claiming sponsorship of the advertisement.
Reading your post again, I'm not sure if you were just mentioning that in general you've never seen an ad for proposed legislation (and not that it was Google doing it)?
If so, I know I've seen it plenty on the local level but can't say definitively one way or the other for national legislation.
Machete, I guess I wasn't clear. I was disturbed to see the ad, and don't remember seeing this type of thing before except during an election. I feel like Obama's propaganda is popping up everywhere and I wonder who is paying for this.
I guess it was the post title that threw me.
There are a lot of people who will stand to make unheard-of fortunes (see: our money) if this health care industry takeover happens... the "fundamental transformation" has begun.
"... and I wonder who is paying for this."
Easy enough to answer, I think ... just follow the link on the ad ... http://www.barackobama.com is the site of "Organizing for America".

Ziva, ever heard of Harry and Louise? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dt31nhleeCg Or are only Republican groups allowed to run political ads?
Eddy, I don't have a problem with political ads. I was just surprised to see one in a banner attached to a You Tube video.
