Heroes of the Hemisphere

I was privileged to have been invited to the Heroes of the Hemisphere event this past Saturday, organized by the Pan American Development Foundation. Marc Masferrer wrote about the event - and the organization's recognition of Yoani Sanchez - right here.

There were five activists in total recognized as "Heroes of the Hemisphere", all of whom dedicate their time and effort to helping their communities in their countries. You can read all about them right here.

I was honored to be there and was quite humbled by the fact that it was an incredibly diverse crowd, with people from all over the Caribbean and Latin America in attendance, all of whom there for communities and people in need. There were truly no politics at this event, just people wanting to help other people.

Ill try to post some pictures as soon as I get them, but in the meantime, check out the PADF website and, if you can, donate a few bucks as well. The folks at PADF are truly an inspiration and put forth a great deal of love, time and effort into helping those that need help the most.
