Empty desks
The sad, pathetic state of "journalism" today - or - why there are so many empty desks at One Herald Plaza.
From a Miami Herald article on Yoani titled "Blogger in Cuba has Washington's ear", we have the following revealing beauty:
In Congress, as critics and supporters of the decades-old travel ban used Sánchez's recent beating, presumably at the hands of Cuban security forces. . .
(emphasis mine)
Presumably? PRESUMABLY? PREFUCKINGSUMABLY?
Really? Who else could it have been?
CIA agents?
No?
Dick Cheney?
No?
Vampires?
No?
How about extremist right-wing exile chihuahuas?

Presumably means you're presuming, which means you believe something strongly but you weren't there and there isn't video, official reports or confirmation of who did it. If they said "at the hands of Cuban security forces" withour "presumably," it would be bad journalism. Also, the Yoani-skeptics around here should be happy that the Herald added "presumably," because it implies the possibility that the ordeal was self-inflicted, or part of a grander scheme from the Cuban government, to garner pity for Yoani.
Right, Eddy. all those eyewitness accounts be damned.
Geez, youre a fucking obtuse moron.
