Liberal projection

Rick Moran at American Thinker demolishes Kos who says conservatives are cowards:

It has been my experience that those who have to brag about their bravery to convince us of it are themselves cowardly wretches. But why trade schoolyard taunts with some half wit liberal who confuses prudence and caution with cowardice? It is obvious that Kos does not believe we are at war - which would come as a shock to those very same terrorists who he wants to "frog march" through the streets of Manhattan. They firmly believe they are at war with us. But denying reality is a liberal specialty especially when it comes to exercising our right of self defense.

They want to cut and run from Afghanistan. How brave! How noble! They think we should do nothing and allow Iran to build a nuke. How "smart!" How courageous!" Isn't a little weird that we are getting a lecture in courage from someone who only supported the war in Afghanistan because it was politically advantageous for the election and now that his candidate is in the White House, he advocates total withdrawal?

A classic case of Freudian projection if ever there was one...

  • That is rich!

A bunch of pantywaists sipping white zinfandel from a box and listening to "smooth jazz" calling conservatives cowards.

pls don't lump me in with KOS, but what exactly are we doing in Afghanistan? were any of the insanely cowardly 9-11 high-jackers Afghans?
what beef do we have with the Taliban? aside from shutting down the world opium mkt and degrading female Afghanis (deplorable but certainly not worth American lives and resources)
love this site and all info related to Cuba

  • What beef do we have with the Taliban? Well, granodeoro, that is a damn good question, and one that has caused me to consider just what interest do we have with the Taliban.

    Let me see... I'm thinking...

Oh, wait, I think I may know:

The Taliban is who gave Osama Bin Laden and Al Qaeda refuge, support, and terrorist training camps. It was in Afghanistan, with the help of the Taliban, that Bin Laden and his lieutenants planned 9/11 and it was the Taliban that helped hide him when the US forces came looking for him.

Maybe I'm a crazy warmonger, but in my book, when a government helps a terrorist commit the murder of thousands of American citizens, they sort of--just maybe--become enemies of the United States.

  • Mr. Mojito

The one problem is that Bin Laden and Co. are probably in Pakistan.

Were bombing the wrong "Stan" - or perhaps we could bomb both ;)

    Alberto,
Bin Laden was a national hero in Afghanistan that being said,
the Taliban would have handed him over to anyone for the price of a few tea bags. the company down in Langley could have had him delivered to Gitmo quicker than FedEx

i wasn't on the ground until Sept 2004 i didn't witness the real ordinance used from nov 2001 all through 2002 but got a pretty good view of the outcome any AlQaeda there have long been enjoying their 72 virgins. i'm convinced were burning ammo in the wrong theater
as far as planning new attacks at home or abroad the last place you'll find these clowns is afghanistan the real hunt is right hear on every collage campus from Cal State Fullerton to NC State
no i don't think you are a crazy war monger but the threat and your gun sights should be aimed a little closer to home

  • Granodeoro:

I have to disagree with you that the Taliban would have handed Bin Laden over for money. If the Taliban was more interested in money than they are in their jihadist ideology, they wouldn't have banned the production of opium in Afghanistan in 2000 and nearly wipe out all production.

If the US had not gone into Afghanistan after 9/11, Bin Laden and Al Qaeda would have continued to enjoy unbridled freedom to plot new attacks and train new jihadists to launch more attacks against the US and Western civilization. Instead, they have spent the last 8+ years running for their lives from safe house to safe house, cave to cave, fox hole to fox hole, more worried about staying alive than plotting new attacks.

I'm not going to imply that the war in Afghanistan has been conducted perfectly, but if we pull out now, the Taliban will take over, give safe haven to Al Qaeda once again, and before we know it, we will be right back to where we were on 9/10/2001.
