Yes that was as stupid as admitting that Chairman Mao is your role model, but some of these people are so proud of the 'Change' taking place in America that the can't contain themselves. I'm sure that she will get some coaching from above on these types of incidents.
All others should take heed and keep quiet lest Americans start to get a clue!

The Americans born on US soil don't seem to be really concerned and it's just as well, I think the majority voted for the 'change' and might enjoy being communists for a while and looking up to Mao,Che and the likes of Chavez.

The Perspective Of A Russian Immigrant
By SVETLANA KUNIN | Posted Friday, September 04, 2009 4:20 PM PT

In the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, I was taught to believe individual pursuits are selfish and sacrificing for the collective good is noble.

In kindergarten we sang songs about Lenin, the leader of the Socialist Revolution. In school we learned about the beautiful socialist system, where everybody is equal and everything is fair; about ugly capitalism, where people are exploited and treat each other like wolves in the wilderness.

Life in the USSR modeled the socialist ideal. God-based religion was suppressed and replaced with cultlike adoration for political figures.

The government-assigned salary of the proletariat (blue-collar worker) was 30%-50% higher then any professional. Without incentive to improve their life, professionals drank themselves to oblivion. They — engineers, lawyers, doctors, teachers — earned a government-determined salary that barely covered the necessities, mainly food.

Raising children was a hardship. It took four to six adults (parents and grandparents) to support a child. The usual size of the postwar family was one or two children. Every woman had the right to have an abortion and most of them did, often without anesthesia.

There is a comparative historical reality that plays out the consequences of two competing ideologies: life in the USSR and in America. When the march to the worker's paradise — the Socialist Revolution — began in 1917, many people emigrated from Russia to the U.S.

In the USSR, economic equality was achieved by redistributing wealth, ensuring that everyone remained poor, with the exception of those doing the redistributing. Only the ruling class of communist leaders had access to special stores, medicine and accommodations that could compare to those in the West.

The rest of the citizenry had to deal with permanent shortages of food and other necessities, and had access to free but inferior, unsanitary and low-tech medical care. The egalitarian utopia of equality, achieved by the sacrifice of individual self-interest for the collective good, led to corruption, black markets, anger and envy.

Government-controlled health care destroyed human dignity.

Chairman Nikita Khrushchev released facts about Stalin and his purges. People learned of the horrific purge of more than 20 million citizens, murdered as enemies of the state.

Those who left Russia found a different set of values in America: freedom of religion, speech, individual pursuits, the right to private property and free enterprise. The majority of those immigrants achieved a better life for themselves and their children in this capitalist land.

These opportunities let the average immigrant live a better life than many elites in the Soviet Communist Party. The freedom to pursue personal self-interest led to prosperity. Prosperity generated charity, benefiting the collective good.

The descendants of those immigrants are now supporting policies that move America away from the values that gave so many immigrants the chance of a better life. Policies such as nationalized medicine, high tax rates and government intrusion into free enterprise are being sold to us under the socialistic motto of collective salvation.

Socialism has bankrupted and failed every society, while capitalism has lifted more people out of poverty than any other system.

There is no perfect society. There are no perfect people. Critics say that greed is the driving force of capitalism. My answer is that envy is the driving force of socialism. Change to socialism is not an improvement on the imperfections of the current system.

The slogans of "fairness and equality" sound better than the slogans of capitalism. But unlike at the beginning of the 20th century, when these slogans and ideas were yet to be tested, we have accumulated history and reality.

Today we can define the better system not by slogans, but by looking at the accumulated facts. We can compare which ideology leads to the most oppression and which brings the most opportunity.

When I came to America in 1980 and experienced life in this country, I thought it was fortunate that those living in the USSR did not know how unfortunate they were.

Now in 2009, I realize how unfortunate it is that many Americans do not understand how fortunate they are. They vote to give government more and more power without understanding the consequences.

All this ,makes me wonder outloud as we go through the 'changing' of America as we know it are the Cubans,Russians and Africans the only ones that are going to put up a fight? Really? How ironic......then again is really our fight?
We already tasted communism we know what it's all about, Americans have never lived under communism and maybe we should all back off and let them try it at least once!.....

    raylove54,
Yes, the majority of Americans voted for what we got, but what we got wasn't what they voted for. Every democrat congressional candidate talked as if he was a conservative, about fiscal responsibility, winning in Afghanistan, the real war, keeping taxes on the middle class low and giving tax cuts to the middle class, bringing the country together, and a strong military to keep us safe. If they had told the American people what they would really do, they would have lost in landslides everywhere.
The same, of course, holds true for Obama. He consistently ran to the right of McCain. The country wanted so much to feel good about themselves and see a black man succeed, pardon me for quoting Rush, that they were so eager to elect Obama, they decided to overlook all the evidence of his radical background and accused anyone who brought up those facts of "racism".
It didn't hurt that he was charming, good looking, sexy, and had a gorgeous family.
Okay folks, the racists that tried to warn you are now victims along with you of the socialism, anti constitutionalism, anti freedom everywhere that is being perpetrated on us by this administration and all of the useful idiots that help them every day to take away our liberties.

I just got an e-mail from Senator Specter bragging about the reasons we need the public option and why he is voting for this health care bill. The comments on his video are almost unanimously against his doing that. Do you think he cares? The arrogance of those who are supposed to be representing us is huge.
I hope the anger of those whose wishes these guys ignored is huge and in 2010's elections, we let them see how huge.

I will put here a paraphrase of what I said elsewhere because it relates.

I can't help comparing pictures of the thugs in Cuba to pictures from the 9/12 rally in Washington which had all of those smiling happy faces of people protesting this socialistic administration which is trying to put us on the path which will result in thuggery like just this.

Every preconceived utopia needs a police state to make it run.

  • Honey, I think the problem is lazy voters. There was so much evidence out there easily found, all they had to do was turn off the boob tube and read something. Just as congress isn't reading the bills they pass, the average citizen votes according to as I remember one Obama supporter explaining why she voted for him, because, "he's hot." Well personally I find neither he nor his wife charming, good looking or sexy; to me they are ugly, dishonest, manipulative, anti-American career exploiters of the weak and ignorant. They are communist scum. Until Americans decide to get off their asses and become responsible citizens our country will continue to tank.

    Ziva,
It's so strange to me. One devout liberal asked me, if you can believe this, is Chavez a bad person? This was no idiot. He is an otherwise intelligent person. He thinks he is so well informed. When I told him that Chavez took his oil rich country down to depravity and he is just like Castro, he was surprised to learn that. When I reminded him about Chavez at the U.N. and the smell of sulfur speech, he kept quiet. I am betting that he was trying to decide whether he was supposed to find it wrong for a foreigner to come to our country to bad mouth our president or if he secretly thought, well, after all it was Bush he was talking about.
But most of the rest of my liberal friends, who do not live like they vote, are also intelligent and have fixed themselves into this religion of pro choice, war is not the answer mode and decided Bush evil, Obama neat, that no matter what Obama and company do, they look the other way and find reasons for giving them leeway. And one of these is my stockbroker, who should know better because he knows a lot about markets, money, capital formation and the rest. He actually announced to me that if McCain had won, we would be in worse economic shape because the world is in a mess and at least Obama is trying to stem the damage. Can you believe this? His insanity is caused by his anti religious fervor. There's noting like a lapsed Catholic. At least, by some miracle, he is still a brilliant stockbroker.
I have to put up daily with fanatic liberals everywhere I go who complain bitterly about how bad the economy is, jobs are nowhere to be found and so many are out of work. They see this from personal experience. They see no fault in Obama for this. Mostly they blame Bush. Now it is becoming harder to do that. But that doesn't stop them. they complain about how the world is more dangerous.
Oh, yes, and to comfort and humor themselves, they are immediately transferring their hatred capabilities and their condescension from Bush to Palin.
When intelligent people are either willfully ignorant or uninformed and don't know it and fixed in wrongheaded opinions, and consider me a fanatic of the worst kind, not recognizing that is exactly what they are, then, like you said, we will continue to tank.
My only hope is the polls keep going down, Specter gets almost unanimous, "don't do that" comments from his constituents, which he ignores, the Rasmussin negatives top the positives for Obama, so that what was once a very positive difference is now down to minus fourteen, the independents are leaving this crap in droves. If that holds, 2010 should be a big surprise for our side and for those that I describe here. Of course, my liberals will all despair of the American people who didn't appreciate the wonders of what we almost achieved.
    I despair, I really do.

This is news from 2008 you klutz.

  • Don't you have some Mambis to watch, Pablito?

I just heard some old Cubans are gathering at 35th avenue and Calle Ocho and they're talking politics. Who the hell do they think they are???

You better hurry up and get over there so you can set them straight!

  • Paul2

I agree with Val. Alberto you are a comedic wizard.

  • Why thank you, Pablito!

Coming from a person as bitter and humorless as yourself, that says a lot.
