Message to CANF: Please make Rubio video public again
Val posted an item earlier about a short but rousing speech given by Marco Rubio in May of last year at a Cuban American National Foundation luncheon. You may remember that the main event was a speech by then-candidate Barack Obama. But he was upstaged by the opening act, Marco Rubio. Videos of both speeches were posted to youtube on CANF's official youtube channel. We posted the Rubio video here at Babalu several times and I even transcribed the speech. At some point the video was "made private" meaning that only people who are invited by administrator of CANF's youtube channel can see it. You can verify that this is the case by clicking here.
I'm personally calling on CANF to make the video public again. Such an important speech by such a prominent Cuban-American figure in our community deserves to be seen. You invited Rubio to speak and he spoke well. So don't disappear his remarks.

We would all like to see Mr. Marco Rubio again and hear his speech. I join Henry Gomez in calling on CANF to release it.
Henry G. - you are my favorite poster here (seriously) but an appeal from Babalu is unlikely to sway CANF. Have you guys ever said anything nice about anyone in CANF outside of Jorge Mas Canosa? I mean c'mon, if you would believe half the people here you would think Raul was running CANF. I too hope that the speech is available for public consumption because it is Marco at his best...even if he does make a small mistake in it.
Henry, if I were you, I wouldn't lower myself to pleading with people who have betrayed my trust and proved themselves unworthy of my respect. You'll only give them the satisfaction of refusing you. Besides, Rubio can toss off a speech like that in his sleep, meaning there's plenty more where that came from. CANF is effectively a dead horse and should be treated as such.
Why so negative. Cardinal. Sounds like you are in the CANF. Maybe you are Raul?
I don't believe that the request has anything to do with saying anything nice about anybody OR lowering oneself. I would like to read and hear that speech if I could. If this organization (CANF) feels that it is "worthy" of being called representative of a segment of the Cuban American community , then it should have no problem in making it public again.
ah yes... Julio I am part of that nefarious organization that seeks to undermine the Cuban Exile community I hope you don't put me in a car and beat me up for it. God, what is wrong with disagreeing with anyone here, ridiculous the goosestepping mentality that some of you have. No, I am not in CANF - not really interested they, don't do anything. I did consider joining the Cuban Liberty Council just for the s***s and giggles. Seeing a bunch of septuagenarians getting apoplectic at the mere sight of the word "Cuba" coming out of Obama's mouth.
Negative cuz I'm honest... I hold a grudge like no one else and if I was CANF I'd be torn between giving the people what they want and getting free publicity of it or telling everyone who tears me a new hole for even sneezing the wrong way to go fornicate with themselves.
Gosh "The Cardinal" take an aspirin and get over it. Dont get so worked up over it. You`re gonna get an infarto over nothing. Its better to fart and get it out of your system.
