If you all ever, ever get the chance stop by the Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon Libraries - they are much more than what they seem to be. You can't help but be moved by being at RR's place and seeing his finall resting place. As for the RN library the exhibit will blow your mind when you realize the scope of RN's career and how he seemed to be involved in every little twist and turn of the Cold War. When you walk through his child hood home you come to the amazing realization that ANYONE can be President. It is astounding how humble his origins were.

Martica, you've been such a blessing to my life in the past few days......first, you post the recipe and pics to that scrumptious flan/cake, which I have every intention of making for my family on Thanksgiving. But now, you've perked up my morning with this beautiful tribute to RR. Like Orgullosa said, your description was so good that it was easy to visualize the setting, as well as the wonderful and unique hero that once inhabited it.
God bless you and your family.
Truly as they say; cuidate que de los buenos no quedan muchos. :-)

By the way, I have seen these pictures of Rancho del Cielo before in the foundations's web site. And they posted some pictures from inside the house.

Absolutely Marta,

By looking into that part of Ronald Wilson Reagan’s piece of his personal life (Rancho del Cielo) it gave you an inside picture of whom the man actually was and the reason for his success as an American leader.

I have no doubt whatsoever that he was the way that you saw through his personal mementos and that he truly believed in the American values that he preached throughout his political life.

We also so need him more than ever today; unfortunately leaders like him appear in the political area once in a lifetime.

How lucky you are!!! Ronald Reagan has always been "my" president and I have utmost respect for him. Too bad you could not take pictures inside, but your description was so detailed that I felt I was there with you and Eric.
