Now the ball is in our court. One reason for rape is to defile the enemies women. In return often the familial tribe rejects the innocent women. The left wants us to reject her as damaged goods. You can see that in the people who say I like Sarah but... and they cant voice the but. Liberals who say I don't like how they treat her or what they say but they don't have enough indignation to protect her.

Robin's article is a profound insite into an evil cabal that will stop at no limit to destroy Her and US and our vision for our country. This isnt politics anymore it is a death struggle, \

DONT RAPE MY WOMEN.

And she gave SNL one of its highest ratings ever, and probably all those news interviews that didn't turn out so well for her. Frum will believe what he wants to and I will believe what my eyes and ears tell me.

Polls are manipulated in a shitload of ways. The real gauge of Palin's popularity - which should be obvious to Frum but isnt, (perhaps a Freudian thing) - is that not only is her book still No1 bestseller, but people show up in droves to her booksignings and events, this, despit ethe constant and uncontrolled barrage of negative press.

Hell, she gave Oprah her highest ratings ever. And ratings numbers dont lie.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, he quotes polls, the same polls that call Biden a great leader and claim Obama's popularity went up as Palin's went down.

I insist we all take a vacation from talking about Palin and let the drama play out.
Let all of the msm and leftists beat her down as they will. But let everybody else just shut up about her for a change. She isn't running for anything. Let's let her do her thing.
Obama supported N.J.'s governor and look what that got him. Palin supported Hoffman, a relative unknown and he almost won in a three way race, and maybe he actually did win; he has unconceeded. If Scozzafova didn't get her 5%, Hoffman would have won. He came out of nowhere only one month earlier to take on the endorsed Republican and almost won. So Palin didn't hurt him.
She wants to campaign for candidates for this November. Let's stand back quietly and see her impact on races and the kinds of crowds she gets.
I, for one, hope Palin makes Frum eat his heart out as she gains friends and supporters.
For now, let us all stop talking about her.

David Frum is a case in point. He wrote a column deriding Palin and I responded. His reply is on the bottom; mine back is on top. Here are excerpts of this exchange:

Dear Mr. Frum,
You don't need a pen pal, but I'd like to answer this one.
I often quote that Kael statement myself.

What you say is correct that the numbers don't favor Palin. But they ridiculed Reagan even after he had been a successful governor for eight years. (They continued all during his presidency, too.) Palin may not turn out to be the one. But she's great so far. That is all I want to get across. I don't mind when the left goes ballistic on her. They are simply transferring their obsolete Bush hatred onto her. If they weren't so dangerous, it would be quite amusing. However, I do dislike when moderates and conservatives pooh pooh her, though. She isn't running for anything. Let's see what happens should she ever choose to run.
Furthermore, the numbers for Obama until recently were very high. Does that mean Obama is good for this country? Ugh. Numbers can be crunched to say whatever the poll takers want them to say. Palin has had a withering press against her. I would wish, in an ideal world that everyone stop talking about her except the left and the msm. (which is a redundancy.)

If you read the letters from her constituents about what Palin got done in Alaska, it is easy to say she has accomplished more than most governors.
If she had not been on the ticket, McCain would have lost in a landslide. They didn't lose by much in what should have been a Democrat year. And if that October Surprise hadn't shown up, they might have even pulled it out. And in my opinion that was the excitement over Palin.
No one else draws crowds like she does and it is not for how cute she is. It is because she touches ordinary people in ways most public people do not. Obama has that kind of charisma. But he is promising the moon in spending and taking all troubles away. Palin promises nothing except to let you keep the money you work for.

I was there in Washington on 9/12. These were not only conservatives. There were also angry liberals, moderates and independents who felt betrayed by this administration. It was a cross section. I talked to a lot of people there. Overwhelmingly they loved Palin.
If she fails, so she fails. But let's be patient before we condemn her. She certainly would be an improvement on most of the Republicans from the last congress and the clowns from this administration now. I think she'd even be an improvement on Bush and I liked Bush in some ways a lot.
If you believe that splitting the Republicans as in NY23 is a bad thing for the party, and that here will be a blood bath for us in 2010, then that is another thing I must disagree with you about.

You are quite correct in your second point. Since I am surrounded by liberals who never let me talk (see Klavan on the Culture on Youtube) and never stop letting me know what they think, I am given ample opportunity to hear opposing views. I learn from those I disagree with. It happens to me sometimes. But certain things are not acceptable to me.

I am just guessing, but I'd bet I am not one of those who disagrees with you that you learned something from.

Thanks for responding.
Janet Cantor

Dear Mrs Cantor:
I appreciate it that you would take the trouble to write to me. Let me offer two replies

1) I cant object if you say "I like Sarah Palin." It's a free country, and tastes differ. What I have been trying to do is present the overwhelming data that shows that it is just not true that the former governor is (in your words) "impressive to everyone except the left and those on the right who are jealous or whatever." We have numbers! 70% of Americans say Palin is unqualified to be president. 63% say they would "never" vote for her. Those are facts - and there are plenty more where they came from. When conservatives say, "Well everyone I know likes her," they are just repeating in reverse that famous remark of Pauline Kael's: "How could Nixon win? Nobody I know voted for him."

2) You express regret that you seldom agree with me lately. I am sorry to hear it. I'll try to be more persuasive! But just to speak personally: I learn much more from people who disagree with me than from those who agree ... and isn't learning the point of reading?

Best regards

Those are good questions Honey. I think the answer lies in the fact that many of our "conservatives" and "moderates" are like the Republicans In Name Only. Although they claim to be conservative, they still need to be apologetic to the left for everything smacking of tradition, religion, family, the white race, national pride,....etc. In the case of Sarah, a woman who has accomplished all of the goals of the original feminist movement and then some, she defies the contemporary definition of a feminist, which irks the left to no end. So, isn't it understandable that these so-called conservatives must offer up apologies by commiserating with the left and joining in the Sarah Slandering? Makes perfect sense to me, yessir!

Okay, we can understand why the left must demonize her. She is a great threat to everything they are getting away with. Their contempt for her puts the lie to the feminists' spouting about women's ability to have it all. She offers no promises like Obama does all of the time, except to let you keep more of your own money and sovereignty over your choices. This also puts the lie to the left's being pro choice.

But what is the reason so many on the right or in the middle feel that they must belittle her as not a serious person, or viable candidate, even before she has said a word about running for anything? What is that all about?
Why are they not just willing to leave her alone and see what happens? I know pundits like to be pundits and show off their perspicacity, but did they do this to Pawlenty or Romney as much? And they were candidates.

I think this analysis nailed it. It is creepy to think that these progressives either subconsiously are so threatened that they are all instinctively reacting in this manner, or that they are have specific marching orders as their reactions to her seem always so extreme and alike. Neither thought is more comforting than the other. I have questioned leftists friends and they are always incredulous that I would like her and quickly mention that she is an inexperienced, dumb lightweight (of course these same folks think Obama is wonderful and popular---can't wait to chide them on his latest polls...)
