Blogacción por los Derechos Humanos en Cuba

marti2

Myself with Henry Agueros, Esteban Fernandez of Periódico 20 de Mayo, and Junta Patriotica members Joel Borges and  Gilberto Perez at the Jose Marti Plaza in Los Angeles.

Here is my very rough translation, please someone, correct any errors:

We, Cubans in exile, from more than thirteen cities of Europe and America united in an international chain for freedom and democracy in Cuba. We stood with our friends in each city to reiterate our rejection of the flagrant violations of human rights in Cuba. In solidarity, we expressed in a united voice these demands:

1- We demand the unconditional freedom of all the Cuban political prisoners, an end to the terrorism of the State against the civil populace and the end of the dictatorship as the form of government in the island.

2- We endorse and are in solidarity with all the forces of the civil society in Cuba that strive for progress, freedom, and democracy for Cuba.

3- We alert the public and the international community about the new strategies used by the Castro dictatorship to control and manipulate public opinion in order to squash international interest in the flagrant violations of human rights in Cuba.

Subscribed in Miami, Tampa, Hialeah, West Palm Beach, West New York, New Jersey, Los Angeles, San Juan of Puerto Rico, Toronto, Rome, Paris, Madrid, Barcelona and Marbella, today 5 December of 2009.

Please excuse our ragged looks, as Henry and I were sin sleep after attending a late night Albita concert.  More about that here.

There's no way to say this in a good way, though it's meant this way, but you guys need to have people in your group younger than sixty year olds.

  • Alley Kat

Spygirl, do you realize how shallow your comment? No, of course you don't, otherwise you wouldn't have said it.
I hate to sound like I'm playing armchair social commentator here, but you have succumbed to the idiocy propagated by Hollywood and Madison Ave., that it is only young people who can make any valuable and credible contributions.

Unfortunately, it is only those who are 60 and over who can most accurately describe the conditions pre and post Castro's Cuba, and the ones who most poignantly and passionately take to the task.
Focusing on the outward appearance of the messengers does in no way lessen the impact of the message itself, except for those who are too irreversibly enmeshed in their brainwashing (social and political) to pay any heed.

  • FreedomForCuba

    Very well said, Alley Kat,

Dejate de comer tanta mierda Spygirl and start showing some respect for those that lived in the belly of the beast instead of showing preference for those young idiots that have not lived the experience.

By the way, the young ones are the product of the lefty American academia system and don’t have a fucking clue what is to live under a Communist society.

Dejate de comer de lo que pica el pollo.

  • Henry Agueros

Spygirl...There is no way to say this in a good way though its meant this way but
Its a shame that your mom did not take advantage of her "Pro Choice" rights.

  • Geez, Spygirl, There is no way to say this in a good way though its meant this way but you are incredibly ill mannered.

  • Spygirl -I am not sure why you decided to leave such an ill mannered off topic comment, but here is something for you to ponder; when the frivolities of youth have passed, all we are left with is our character and our deeds. I suspect you will find yourself bereft of both.

  • Spygirl

You guys are all so busy throwing bricks you missed the real point of my comment. Oh well.

  • Alley Kat

Sigue comiendo mierda en la luna mijita, que ya te llegara tu tiempo.

  • Spygirl, you are definitely bi-polar. At times you make cogent, reasoned arguments; at others you are a total asshat. Take your meds, babe. You need 'em. BTW, I'd rather be with those "60 year olds" than with your brand of youth any day of the week.

  • Ok, I was going to take the high road but, this really pisses me off, thank you Spy bitch. The demonstration was in support of Human Rights and Democracy for Cuba, and I just do not see where the "F" it matters how old the people are who support that. Some of the "over 60" participants just happen to be heroes who have spent their lives fighting the castro regime to free Cuba, and you feel it necessary to make a distasteful comment right out of the Hollywood playbook obsession with youth and hijack the post. Well, you know what Spygirl, I hope you enjoy living in your small shallow world where only the young beautiful people have value, because you know what? You too are going to get old and what the hell have you done that is of value to this world that you can cite when your day of reckoning arrives. Think about that. And for the record, you are not good enough to clean these mens boots.

  • FreedomForCuba

    Ditto Ziva!

    Extremely well said...

  • Freedom - I second you on that!!!!

Ziva - you and Henry looked like ya'll had an awesome time.

Spygirl - It's people like you who are part of the reason why this country is going down the shithole!!!!

Sometimes i wonder why the hell i was born in a generation with a bunch of dumbasses more obsessed with looks and famous people than anything else. The older generations contributed everything to this country. They are the reason why we are free. Show them the respect they deserve.

  • FreedomForCuba

    colena,

There is still hope for America as long as we have young people like you that still get it right...

  • Freedom : The problem is that most of the other young people dont get it. Thier too busy at the clubs and bars. The rest are being brainwashed in schools. I just hope some of them wake the hell up.
