    OK, I've got a topic.

I'm surprised that no one else in the Babalublogosphere has brought up the topic of Lou Dobbs. Dobbs was the victim of a concerted attack by liberals to get him off the air (he was at CNN) because he adamantly opposed illegal immigration and urged the strengthening of our borders so that no terrorists, narcotraffickers, and illegal immigrants infiltrated the country. He was never, ever, against immigrants, just against the lawbreakers. The liberals were successful in getting off the air, but have been unsuccessful with Glenn Beck. So why no mention of this in Babalu?

  • Cato

Though he's a bit melodramatic I still like Glenn Beck. Dobbs is an xenophobic idiot immigrants of any stripe are for the most part hard working people who pay taxes and do not spend their days going to the emergency room or mugging old defenseless ladies, Like Dobbs would have us believe.

  • Cato

Dobbs is no conservative and economically he's cluaeless and supports trade barriers that would only benefit unions at the expense of consumers.

Heard that Dobbs is contemplating running for US congress -- in NJ.

Liberals might have attacked Dobbs, but that's not why he left. What I mean is, he wasn't forced out. He had a solid contract and he could have stayed had he wanted. He wanted a release from his contract as much as CNN wanted him gone (assuming it did).

I think Dobbs wants to be a fish in a bigger pond than CNN. Is he fooling himself about his own popularity / influence? Maybe. We'll see.

You're totally wrong about Dobbs. He is no xenophobe. He has the radical idea that a) our laws should be enforced and apply to anyone and everyone b) Americans should have a sayso as to who comes into their country. Like Dennis Miller said, "Yes, this is a melting pot, but the ingredients don't just choose themselves and march up into the pot." He has NEVER said anything bad about legal immigrants. Just like the Minutemen at the border: the liberals portrayed them as KKK types. You do know what happened at Columbia University, right?
