Cuba’s hypocritical bullshit propaganda
The horrific tragedy in Haiti should not be used for political purpose, and Babalú has refrained from commenting on the fact that Cuba is doing exactly that, but IMO there comes a point where remaining silent is unconscionable.
I've reached that point. While the Haitian people deserve all the help they can get, from every available source, and I'm glad they are receiving said assistance, I cannot remain silent as story after story goes on and on about Cuban doctors saving thousands of Haitians while performing thousands of "difficult" surgeries, etc., etc., etc., while lamenting that they wish they could do more. The hypocrisy is disgusting because the castro regime will not allow Cuban doctors to provide adequate medical care to their own people. The regime practices medical "apartheid" with one system for tourists and the elite, and quite another one for the average Cuban who is unable to buy aspirin. So I say enough of this politically correct bullshit that the castro regime has been getting by with for 51 years.
Fact: Cuban doctors who are willing to stand up against this injustice become enemies of the state as in the case of political prisoners Dr. Oscar Elias Biscet and Dr. Darsi Ferrer, who was just beaten by a political "re-education officer" while handcuffed and unable to defend himself.
Fact: The castro regime denies the Cuban people all human rights, and if they don't care about their own people you'd have to be a complete idiot to believe that they care about the Haitians.
There, I've said it and if this makes me a bad person, well then let the stone throwing begin.

Ziva,
How could this possibly make you a bad person? Liars like Moore are bad people. Apologists for evil regimes are bad people.
State boldly the truth and you are good.
Fantastic post, Z.
CNN in particular has been fawning over the "talented" Cuban doctors who with little reasoruces have saved more Haitians than any other country. (barf)
Ah, well-orchestrated damage control on the part of the regime to off-set the critical letter floating around signed by around 60 black intellectuals and artists that condemns racism in Cuba.
That said, Ziva, I haven't been following the MSM on the Haiti earthquake, but I'd be interested in knowing if they're making a similar hullabaloo about other country's aid to Haiti, or is Cuba the only country that deserves to be singled out for praise? After all, I'm sure that aid is pouring in from everywhere in the world. As usual, the MSM shilling for the regime.
You are one of the nicest people I have ever met. Telling the truth does not make you a bad person, instead it makes you an honorable person. The same way that we will remember all those that supported the regime when it falls, we will also remember all those that stood by us and the name of Ziva Sahl will be there in the list of friends and heroes. Remember, you and I have a mojito pending at Varadero when Cuba is finally free. Keep telling the truth my friend!
Ziva, you have gone right to heart of the matter again. Major props to you, and don't stop.
Have you heard who else is using the Haitian earthquake as political propaganda? You're not going to believe this, but I'm not making this up.
Venezuelan Government Says US Weapon Caused Haitian Earthquake
That's right! We attacked Haiti with our U.S. Navy's secret earthquake weapon! I'm not kidding, that's what it says! They even claim to present the proof.
Thanks amigos, Chavez, who is missing more than a few marbles, is acting like the nut he is. I agree with George at The Real Cuba, he's just upset about losing a key part of his drug trafficking route.
