Toyota plans to recall 300,000 Priuses

I know saving gas is a good thing, and really, I'm sorry for all the Toyota owners. That said,  I hope I never get stuck in traffic behind one of these commie pod cars again. Oh, and I just love trying to get around them when they are going 40 in the fast lane.

Now if we could only recall the one on the stickers.

It's just a bad ad for Toyota that there are lefties out there with this kind of crappy advertising on their cars. Just remember that leftwingers hate capitalism but love to cruise in their SUVs, Hummers, and high-end vehicles to their pow-wows. There's lots of us right-wingers who love our Toyotas..... and the company is trying very hard to rectify their mistakes.

At least they haven't been taken over by Barry yet. Can you imagine if this had happened to GM?

I am paranoid enough to believe that this Toyota business is being overblown in an attempt to destroy the best auto maker in the world. I love my Toyota and do not believe the problems are as bad as the publicity says. Toyota is probably recalling the cars to avoid further investigation bu government which would only delay ending the problems.
If it happened to U.S. government owned Auto companies, the press would suppress it and we would not know how bad the situation is.

  • I've never heard anyone complain about their Toyota. I was just having fun with some of the useful idiots out here who drive them. I'm wondering, is Toyota still non-union? If so, then that's probably the key to the over the top bad publicity over this. Correct me if I'm wrong, and it's disconcerting, but don't auto makers frequently have to recall for various repairs?

I've heard many interviews of Toyota employees in the US and none of them were unionized, so that may be a hallmark for them. Toyota has several plants in the US, so many of their cars are US-made and are technically not "foreign"; on the other hand, US automakers do take their business abroad to cut costs. I remember my shock years ago when I saw itty bitty "Fords" on the road in Europe.

I read months ago that Toyota has less overhead because they run a very streamlined operation and do not pay outrageous wages for the same job that unionized workers get paid. It makes sense. But I apologize for not having the source where I read it, I just remember it.

Who the hell gets an "OBAMA09" plate? In Florida?

Must be some big Dem honcho, I'm thinking.

Follow that car. We could easily talk the driver into giving us a bunch of other people's money!

Ignore my last. It's a California plate.

    Forget the money.

  • "commie pod cars" Love it. I'm with Honey. I think they ARE trying to destroy toyota.

Honey & Henry Louis Gomez -

Nah. You ain't paranoid. This is how crime syndicates do it the 'legit way' - the 'chicago way'.

Exactly as you say, they overblow the Toyota troubles in effort to scare the sheeple to BigGovMotors - GM & Chrysler.

Overblown, overstated cases always suggest chicanery by those who yell just a bit too loudly to cover their lies with noise, like some lousy 70s boozo band.

Damn, I own a Prius! LOL

But mine is a 2005 model and not under the brake recall. And I'm certainly no commie. In fact, I'm about as conservative as you can get for a fruit. And I love my Prius. I'm still getting over 40 MPG, even after 5 years. And I've never had to have any major mechanical work done on it other than standard maintenance. But that license plate has to go - gives all us Prius owners a bad name :)
