Reflections on the Revolution in America
From Victor Davis Hanson: "Reflections on the Revolution in America."
These are exciting though scary revolutionary times, akin to the constant acrimony in the fourth-century BC polis, mid-nineteenth century revolutionary Europe, or — perhaps in a geriatric replay — the 1960s. This is an era when the fundamental assumptions of the individual and the state are now being redefined, albeit in a weird, high-tech, globalized landscape.

As the saying goes, it's torch & pitchfork time, guys -- there's no hope that these mobsters who've taken over the Congress and the executive will listen to reason. They are hellbent on taking the country into the hell hole and obliterating its basic institutions to redistribute wealth according the their dictates. We need to kick their lily whites out of office and send them into oblivion forever. Burn their phone lines. Roast their fax machines. Overload their blackberries with emails. They have capitalized on the American people's noble character, patience, and adherence to the rule of law to take over their lives and get away with all kinds of corruption and violations with impunity. They've no idea how mad people are in flyover country as businesses close and people get displaced. I hope and pray even the liberals realize that after this is over, the mob is coming after THEIR lily whites too. Wake up, drones!
Awesome! He really lays it out the way it is...Spot-on!
With all due respect for Mr. Hanson and his characteristically-brilliant writings, we already HAD our revolution.... in 1776.
This is a Demshevik COUNTER-revolution, an insurrection by a fifth column, an attempt to roll things back to the state of affairs that existed prior to the above date: an oligarchy with the "little people" firmly under the bootheel of a European elite.
There is nothing new about an Obama-Pelosi counter-revolution; the "principles" it embraces are as old as Cain and Abel.
