Should a person that once accepted cash from, and "cohabitated" with a Cuban DGI agent be a U.S. Ambassador?

  When Earl Smith was appointed Amb. to Cuba in 1957 replacing Arthur Gardner(cashiered for the gaffe of insisting Castro was a closet communist) the State Dept. sent Smith to get his briefing and orientation on the REAL conditions in Cuba from:....HERBERT MATTHEWS! (true stuff)

  So what the hell? Let's continue the State Depts' fine tradition!

  BTW, Smith himself was cashiered in Jan. 1959 for the crime of coming to the same (UNSPEAKABLY BATISTIANO!!!) conclusion as Gardner.

  MAYBE ANA BELEN MONTES WOULD MAKE A BETTER AMBASSADOR. MONTES HAS MORE EXPERIENCE.
