Thank you, Babalú

A big, fat thank you to Babalú and to Cuban bloggers here in the U.S. for helping me reconnect with my Cuban cousin, blogger Regina Coyula, of La Mala Letra.

Read the rest of the story over at My big, fat, Cuban family.

But what happens when the Castros see these pictures? won't these people be in danger?

  • Honey,

Actually she said that the more people "out here" know about them, the safer they are.
The castros and their flunkies are cowards at heart.
They think they can bully these brave dissidents with impunity. It's sobering for them to realize that the rest of the world is watching their thuggery. This adds pressure to the Cuban government.
Also, these bloggers are not afraid. They are fed up with the status quo in Cuba and hope to make a difference.
She fearlessly posts her blog with an easily recognizable photo of herself. That says it all.

    Besos,
    Marta

  • Honey, I checked with them before posting.
Yoani's home is no secret to the government.
Regina has her full name and picture posted on her blog.

And I think it's giving the humble MBFCF Blog a lot of credit to think that the Cuban government is reading it consistently enough to see the post.

Plus, the more people that see and know these bloggers, the safer it is for the bloggers. If something happens to Yoani or Regina, the world is watching.

If you are reading the hablaron on other posts, you will see that I keep saying that the names of the prisoners and their pictures should be publicized repeatedly.
I agree that that is the best hope of bringing down this government at last.
