The Black Spring of journalism

My colleagues here at Babalu have written eloquently about the Black Spring of 2003 so I won't repeat what they've written. I will, however, mention what I think is the second-most important issue revolving around this crisis: the evil -- yes evil -- behavior on the part of the mainstream media. As Thomas Jefferson once wrote, "the press is impotent when it abandons itself to falsehood." Well, the American press is surely impotent because it has sins of commission and sins of omission on its collective soul.
