Liberal/Progressive heads exploding in three… two… one!

Cheney Endorses Rubio for Senate:

Former Vice President Dick Cheney is endorsing Marco Rubio in Florida's GOP Senate primary, saying Gov. Charlie Crist can't be trusted to stand up to President Barack Obama's agenda.

It's the latest high-profile endorsement for Rubio. Cheney called him a strong conservative leader.

As for Crist, Cheney said in a statement the Rubio campaign released Thursday that "Charlie Crist cannot be trusted even to remain a Republican."

Crist is considering an independent run for the Senate seat. Cheney urged him to either remain in the primary or drop out, saying the only people who would benefit in a three-way race are Obama and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

U.S. Rep. Kendrick Meek is the Democratic front-runner in the race.

Cheney? Well any publicity is good publicity, right?

  • Gigi

Cheney is a CLASS ACT whether anyone likes it or not --- as the prez likes to say.

This is the most expected thing you can ever imagine and nothing Earth shattering. How many people who will be favorably influenced by a Cheney endorsement are not already supporting Rubio? Who's next, Senator Coburn?

And the Liberal heads will explode because...?

  • OmarD

Build a bridge and get over it Felix and Ed64. Rubio has scored an extremely high caliber endorsement with the VP. He's earned it and looking better and better while Crist is looking like a headless chicken.

  • Mr. Mojito

    1. Crist will run as an independent, and sadly probably be even harder to beat as one.

    2. I agree with Cheney, however this endorsement won't score Rubio any political points, in fact it may hurt with centrists.

    3. Has Rubio gotten Jeb Bush's endorsement? That could be valuable.

  • It is a clear message to Crist to do the right thing and pull the plug. He will have a chance in 2012 against Nelson. I doubt that he will. Crist is all about Crist.

    OmarD:

I didn't say that Rubio wasn't going to win the Republican Party. He's got it in the bag. I actually think that he will be formidable in November, too --for what is worth.

But to think that Rubio getting the Cheney endorsement is gonna make liberals' heads explode is just plain crazy. People who will be influenced by a Cheney endorsement are already in Rubio's camp.

Cheney endorsement of Rubio in a Republican primary will make 99% of liberals indifferent. That's your fight and it is already decided anyway

    Eddie,

I finally found something that I can agree with you...LOL

And yes, Jeb Bush endorsement of Marco Rubio will be the last nail in the coffin of Charlie Crist political career in Florida no matter if he runs as an Independent or Republican.

Actually the Miami-Herald is the one game in town continuing praising and pushing Charlie Crist for office when nearly everyone else is going for Marco.

Goes to show how much the Herald’s credibility has sunk these days.

    @Freedomcito:

I finally found something that I can agree with you...LOL

    That warms my heart.
