Babalu

Here’s another reason why you do not want to miss this year’s Cuba Nostalgia.  Just across and around  the corner from our booth here at the convention center are the folks from the Adrienne Arsht Center.   They are having a raffle for free tickets to the upcoming show,  Babalu with Lucie Arnaz and special guest Desi Arnaz, Jr. celebrating the music of their father, the great Desi Arnaz.

Gather the family, come on down and join the fun, and don’t forget to bring your old cell phones.

  1. I don’t know what the main drag in Havana is but I think Desi Arnaz Blvd should be considered when liberty and justice arrives in Cuba.

  2. “Cuban Pete”

the theme sond for Desi Arnaz

    was written by Jose Norman

but it was inspired by a his dog Tango …

makes is sound a little different eh what!

  3. Jose Norman (born Norman Henderson), a classically trained musician who converted to Cuban music because he was fascinated by its poly-rhythms was married to Manuela Garcia-I~niguez Ramirez. She was grand daughter of Calixto Garcia I~niguez and her father was Mambi brigadier General Calixto(G-I)Enamorado who was near Marti at Dos Rios and first fought with Antonio Maceo at Peralejo and in La Invasion and then with his father and half brothers at Tunas, Guisa etc … Her family line (like has neo-Taino mitochondrial DNA) is part Siboney … of the Cabrera Clan of the Sierra Maestra …

  4. Jose Norman was also one of those many who alerted the U.S. about the existance of intermediate nuclear tipped missiles in Cuba.
