Crap in, crap out

Via Hot Air we learn that liberal blogger and all-around asshole Markos Moulitsas is suing a pollster he hired to do a bunch of work dating back before the 2008 election. Moulitsas contends that data provided to him by Research 2000 was "phony" and "falsified.

I can't say that the pollster was a crook but he definitely was not accurate.

On October 26, 2008 Research 2000 had Mario Diaz-Balart leading Joe Garcia 46% to 43%. Actual results had Diaz-Balart winning 52.8% to 47.2%. A 3-point spread vs. an actual 6-point spread. Still, I suppose it's acceptable and within the margin of error.

On the same day Research 2000 had Lincoln Diaz-Balart ahead of Raul Martinez by a single point: 45%-44%. Actual election results were Diaz-Balart 57.8%, Martinez 42.2%. A 1-point spread vs. an actual 9-point spread. Not very reliable.

Just remember that next time some douchebag like Kos tries to sell you on the chances of some jackass party candidate.
