President Hugo Chávez said on Wednesday that he would meet soon with the Jewish community in Venezuela, a day after former Cuban President Fidel Castro called upon Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to "stop slandering the Jews."
While making the announcement, the Venezuelan president did not refer specifically to Castro or Ahmadinejad, whom Chávez views as "my father and brother," respectively. However, he said that Argentine President Cristina Fernández had told him that she was pleased about the meeting, Efe reported.
"We respect and love the Jewish people," said Chávez during a visit to the International Tourism Fair (Fitven) in Caracas.
"Some people have tried to wage a campaign saying that I am anti-Jewish, and enemy of the Jews (...); in fact, we respect and love the Jewish people," Chávez said.
Laugh all you want, amigos. The Cuba and Latin-America "Experts" will find absolutely nothing snark-worthy in any of this. It's all perfectly sincere. Just watch.

The goofy thing is Castro said he didn't know Jews when he was little. Yet his mother was a Sephardic Jew and he didn't become a Catholic until his father had him converted. So the big lie starts right off the bat.
He wants useful idiots to go help refill his emptying coffers, although Forbes puts him as one the biggest thieving tyrants of history, placing him as one of the richest leaders in the world at over a half billion dollars. I am guessing that is only part of his wealth.
