Mariela Castro gets another taste of freedom

http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_kvXIx26Grw/TruoSEt8pAI/AAAAAAAATpo/sSVZmPxOA_M/s320/Mariela+Castro+5.jpg

Mariela Castro, the daughter of Cuban dictator Raul Castro, opened a Twitter account recently to freely share her thoughts 140 characters at a time. It is a luxury few Cubans are allowed or can afford, but Ms. Castro is a high-ranking member of Cuba's elite ruling class and not hindered by such proletariat restrictions. As the first daughter of the dictatorship, she can be seen gallivanting around the world and enjoying all the trappings of luxury her royal pedigree affords. Soon after she started Tweeting, however, Mariela got a taste of freedom -- not her own freedom, but the freedom of other Cubans to express themselves freely and respond to her inanities.

Needless to say, Mariela was not all thrilled with the notion of lowly Cubans disrespecting her privileged position and actually addressing her without permission. Within moments of tasting the freedom of others, she was hurling insults at the impudent peasants, who she referred to as "despicable parasites."

If Mariela Castro believes the freedom of others to speak their minds when addressing her is intolerable, she is now getting a taste of another freedom we all have: the freedom to mercilessly mock her.

Punt de Vista reports that another Twitter account has appeared using a clever and quite hilariously vulgar variation of Mariela Castro's name:

Translation:

"If we give them internet, they won't have time to go out and find food, that is why we don't distract them with that."

And from our friends at Guamá, we find out there is a new Facebook page for Mariela Castro Espin:

El que no le gusta la sopa, le dan dos copas!

Isn't freedom grand?
