Reflections of a ‘Cuba Expert’: Selling the ridiculous with a straight face

The primary reason Phil Peters has earned the distinction of being our favorite "Cuba Expert" is that unlike his fellow "experts," Peters delivers his pro-Castro propaganda with a completely straight face. While most of the other "Cuba Experts" breathlessly blabber ridiculous propaganda points word-for-word from the Castro dictatorship provided scripts, Peters goes the extra mile and makes a concerted effort to try and make the ridiculous sound reasonable. He is well aware of the fact that this is an impossible task, nevertheless, every morning he faithfully embarks on his mission to defend the indefensible with the most serious face he can muster.

From the man who told us all with a straight face that Cuban human rights activist Juan Wilfredo Soto was beaten to death by Castro political police because he resisted their "entreaties," we bring you this new whopper:

Happy embargo-versary
If you enjoy celebrating big old failures, the 50th anniversary of the U.S. embargo against Cuba has just passed. Get yourself some rum and have a ball.

This coming from the man who has dedicated his life to celebrating the failures and hiding the brutality of the vile and murderous Castro dictatorship. And all delivered with a perfectly straight face.

Joseph Goebbels would be proud.
