Sean Penn was Hugo Chavez’ guest of honor (again) this Thursday, serving as keynote speaker at graduation ceremonies for Venezuela’s Salvador Allende Medical School.
“Allow me to impart a little anecdote,” beamed the two-time Oscar winner to the enchanted crowd. “I had the privilege to introduce my sons to comandante Fidel Castro and as he posed for a photo between them I told him: “President, I’ll now be denounced in the U.S. for educating my sons as socialist revolutionaries.
So he responded: “That’s the second best thing that could happen to them–first being doctors.”
Entire thing in Spanish here.
Imagine the professional life expectancy of a Hollywood actor who boasted of the privilege of having his kids pose with Augusto Pinochet Santa-Claus-style. Heck, it’s pretty much a career-killer to pose with George Bush!
