WHOOPS! (as observed earlier here at Babalu) the Gross case is moving inexorably into full Cuba- “Expert” mode
Gross’ wife Judy likened her husband’s situation to that of one of the “Cuban Five,” a group of intelligence officers being held in the U.S. for espionage.“I fully appreciate Rene Gonzalez’s need to visit a dying family member. "We need to remember that these are real people and real lives that are profoundly affected by these decisions,” Judy Gross said in a press release.
A number of analysts have said that the the Cuban government is detaining Gross in order to trade him for the “Cuban Five."
It seems to have started a few weeks ago, as reported by this intransigent site.
Interestingly, Castro bodyguard-defector Juan R. Sanchez, has disclosed that whenever Fidel Castro started snarling against his enemies in the U.S., the name Jose Basulto usually came up.
Not that all these defectors from "la revolucion de los callos" are perfectly trustworthy--but still.
