Sitemeter, the visitor metrics engine we have relied on for years, has been experiencing some serious issues over the last couple of weeks, ostensibly due to server moves. The count you see on the icon may or may not be correct. I have sent several emails to their alleged support department and have not received a satisfactory explanation as to the discrepancy between the counter on our site and their site. We may pass the 6,000,000 visitor mark shortly, based on the count on the icon on our site, but I'll hold off on popping the cork on the champagne (or in my case Newcastle Brown Ale) until I receive clarification on which set of numbers is correct.
