After Four Years Obama’s ‘War On Coal’ Takes Its Toll

This video came out just a few days shy of the 2008 election, and received no attention from the MSM. You only knew about it if you followed conservative blogs.
Since then Cap and Trade was pretty much dead before it even started, a lot due to the ram-rodding of ObamaCare by the democrat-run Congress leaving a very bad taste in the mouth of the American people. But that has not stopped Obama's EPA from bypassing Constitutional legislation to get the agenda of Cap and Trade done. Here you will find a map of coal-fired electric power plants that have either closed or will close. And there is, in ALL reality, nothing to replace it on the already strained power grid in this country, especially not from those "green energy" power companies that sucked-down billions and billions of taxpayer dollars handed to them by the Obama administration. Oh, and let's not forget to mention those jobs lost when a power plant closes. Two closed in my area this year.
Unions historically endorse the democrat candidate. However, the Coal Miner's Union is refusing to endorse either candidate this presidential election ... Which tells me it's less a non-endorsement for one candidate than it is a possible endorsement for the other.
FAIRMONT, W.Va. —After giving then-Sen. Barack Obama a full-throttled endorsement in the 2008 presidential election, the United Mine Workers of America has decided not to endorse either Obama or the presumptive Republican nominee, Mitt Romney, in 2012.
“As of right now, we’ve elected to stay out of this election,” said Mike Caputo, a UMWA official and a Democratic member of the West Virginia House of Delegates. “Our members right now have indicated to stay out of this race, and that’s why we’ve done that.... I don’t think quite frankly that coalfield folks are crazy about either candidate.”
Both candidates are trying to prove otherwise to voters in coal-intensive swing states. Earlier this week the Obama campaign released in Ohio the first coal-issue ad of this cycle, claiming that Romney has flip-flopped his position on coal. The ad includes comments that Romney made as Massachusetts governor in 2003 standing in front of a coal plant, saying that he wouldn’t support jobs that kill people.

The 54-year-old Caputo, who grew up across the street from a coal plant near Fairmont in central West Virginia and has been in the coal industry virtually his whole life, said he couldn’t remember a time UMWA did not endorse a presidential candidate. Caputo is a vice president on the UMWA’s International Executive Board.
“It’s unusual,” he said during an interview at UMWA’s Fairmont office. Caputo, who describes himself as a “hard-core Democrat,” intends to vote for Obama. “I’m loyal to my party,” he said.
David Kameras, a UMWA spokesman based at the union’s headquarters in Virginia just outside of Washington, D.C., said UMWA has not officially completed its endorsement selection decisions for the 2012 election and expects to do so by about mid-September. In 2008, UMWA endorsed Obama in May of that year.
"Our members count on coal-fired power plants and burning of coal to keep jobs,” Caputo said. “We’re a very Democratic union and we try to listen to the rank and file. They’ve sent a clear message that they’re not supportive of the environmental rules that are being put in place.” [...]
Yeah, still a lot of time for a couple 3a.m. calls to the home phone of the union head before election day, I imagine...
It has been nearly four years since that Obama anti-coal video hit the internet (and he wasn't alone, remember). Little time then, 2008, to try to get the 'hope and change' deranged voters to pull their heads out of the pixie dust fog before heading into the voting booths. However, here in 2012, after all we have directly seen and experienced with this administration's crippling energy policies against drilling, fracking, and pipelines, and its green energy pro-crony capitalism, there is no excuse on November 6, 2012 to go into the voting booth uninformed, especially if you are seeing a rise in your energy bills ... or if your job is in danger. While we recognize the socialist European course Obama has planned for our government relationship with our economy, we also need to understand the results of his energy policies just might make us closer to India.

Has B. Hussien made a similar campaign stop with the miners?
I think not, I'm just asking.
"I’m loyal to my party" Why? I'd love to ask him what his party has done for him lately, and will he still be loyal when he gets the pink slip? Who will he blame? Bush? God? Global Warming? Or will he figure out too late, that Obama is a flim flam man.
