Meaningful tourists meangingfully touring La Cabana and meaningfully learning that it's quite a picturesque site for last years Havana Book Fair....Oh! and their tour guides DID mention it was an old Spanish fortress!

Freedom Fighter Tito Rodriguez Oltmans, who from his window in La Cabana watched Castro's firing squads murder hundreds of his Band-of-Brothers, reminds us of some unsettling (and nowadays easily overlooked) items:

These Cuban patriots don't have cell-phones, and are not allowed the slightest communication with the exterior world. Their family visits are greatly restricted. They don't have twitter accounts, or access to the internet. They don't speak on Radio Marti. They're usually hungry and sick with no medical attention. They're Cuban combatants not dissidents.

Among the ones suffering horribly in Castro's torture chambers as I type:
