CNN blames the buildings' deterioration on "Cuba's punishing tropical climate". But when there is no ownership, or the open and free right to paint or repair without permission from the Castro regime, the decay is fully forced neglect...
This is Castro's paradise.
It's so disconcerting to hear the MSM constantly blame Cuba's weather or the US embargo for the deterioration of Havana. The real reason is never named: CASTRO.
The spin is that castro saved Old Havana. That before castro, Batista was going to tear it down and turn it into casinos and hotels, but that castro stopped that travesty. Mind you, all that he has done is to restore a few buildings, while he turned the rest of Havana into a slum.
